Security Council resolutions and needlessly raises tensions and risks destabilizing the security situation in the region,\u201d White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>President Joe Biden, who is currently in Brussels for a series of meetings with European leaders, did not react publicly to the launch.<\/p>\n<p>The launch only adds to Biden\u2019s national security concerns after Russian President Vladimir Putin escalated his war in Ukraine, Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban, and China continues building up its military in the South China Sea.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20356382\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2022\/03\/GettyImages-1239458579.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>A woman passes a TV report showing a news broadcast with file footage of a North Korean missile test, at a railway station in Seoul on March 24, 2022. (ANTHONY WALLACE\/AFP via Getty)<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe President and his national security team are assessing the situation in close coordination with our allies and partners,\u201d Psaki wrote in her statement.<\/p>\n<p>The White House noted \u201cthe door has not closed on diplomacy\u201d with North Korea but insisted the government \u201cimmediately cease its destabilizing actions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The missile launch is thought to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/north-korea-missile-icbm-test-new-type\/\">largest<\/a> test since November 2017 after which former President Donald Trump began engaging with Kim.<\/p>\n<p>Trump agreed to meet with Kim in June 2018 which kicked off a series of meetings and negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>Biden also met with Kim in February 2019 but did not reach any deal surrounding United States sanctions or North Korea\u2019s nuclear arsenal.
