There is a limit to what Democratic <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/21\/james-clapper-and-our-other-intel-experts-are-full-of-it\/\">spin merchants, CIA liars<\/a> and false allegations of \u201cRussian collusion\u201d can do to bury the story.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times broke its silence last week, and admitted <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/21\/barr-biden-lied-to-the-american-people-about-his-hunters-emails\/\">the laptop is real. <\/a>The Washington Post also woke from its slumber and has begun investigating the laptop, recently phoning sources The Post interviewed long ago.<\/p>\n<h2>International scheme<\/h2>\n<p>And, as a grand jury in Delaware moves closer to potentially indicting Hunter, 52, over <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/17\/hunter-biden-paid-off-tax-bill-in-2021-but-investigation-continued-report\/\">alleged tax evasion,<\/a> money laundering and violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, pressure is mounting on the president finally to explain his role in the international influence-peddling scheme run by his son and brother, Jim Biden, while he was vice president.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-nypost-small-post\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"231\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=231\" alt=\"A Rasmussen poll shows 48 percent of voters are gravely concerned about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop.\" class=\"wp-image-21638933\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=462 462w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=347 346w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=231 231w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=116 115w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/hunter-graphic.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all 630w\" \/><\/a><figcaption>A Rasmussen poll shows 48 percent of voters are gravely concerned about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">NY Post Illustration<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The laptop, along with evidence provided by Hunter\u2019s former business <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/10\/27\/hunter-biden-emails-tony-bobulinski-says-he-was-warned-about-going-public\/\">partner Tony Bobulinski, <\/a>and Treasury documents provided to a Senate inquiry, reveal millions of dollars flowing to the Biden family and associates from dubious foreign sources, including three flashpoint countries vital to US national security: Russia, Ukraine and China.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence also exists showing that Joe Biden financially benefited from his then-drug-addicted son\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/08\/hunter-biden-sought-forever-deal-with-chinese-firm-email\/\"> overseas business dealings<\/a> \u2014 perhaps by several million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/20\/white-house-ignores-its-hunter-problem\/\">Jen Psaki played dumb<\/a> last week and refused to answer questions from The <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/18\/jen-psaki-brushes-off-bidens-conflicts-of-interest\/\">Post\u2019s Steven Nelson<\/a> about how the president is navigating conflicts of interest during the Ukraine-Russia war when it comes to sanctioning people who have done business with his family.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, Nelson asked about Russian <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/09\/23\/hunter-biden-received-3-5m-from-russian-billionaire-report\/\">oligarch Yelena Baturina,<\/a> who has not been sanctioned, but who allegedly wired $3.5 million on Feb. 14, 2014, to a firm associated with Hunter\u2019s former business <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/28\/devon-archer-sentenced-for-role-in-hunter-biden-fraud-scheme\/\">partner, Devon Archer.<\/a> That wire was flagged in a suspicious activity report provided by the Treasury Department to a Senate Republican inquiry, chaired by Sens. Perhaps this is why she has not been sanctioned by the Biden administration, although Vladimir Putin was photographed sitting beside her and hugging her at her husband\u2019s 2019 funeral in Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, as vice president, met Baturina on April 16, 2015, at a small dinner organized by Hunter in a private room of the Georgetown <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/28\/joe-biden-regular-at-dc-hotspot-where-he-met-hunters-associates\/\">restaurant Caf\u00e9 Milano.<\/a> Also on the guest list were Hunter\u2019s Ukrainian paymaster, Vadym Pozharskyi, and Kazakhstan\u2019s then-Prime Minister Karim Massimov, now in jail on treason, and his associate, oligarch Kenes Rakishev.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/11\/28\/chinese-titan-lavished-hunter-biden-with-3-carat-gem-offer-of-30-million\/\">Hunter and his \u201cinvestors,\u201d<\/a> despite a claim by the White House to Washington Post fact checkers last year that he only attended briefly.<\/p>\n<h2>Corruption in Ukraine<\/h2>\n<p>VP Biden also is believed to have attended a second \u201cinvestor dinner\u201d organized by his son at the end of March 2016, during another visit to DC by Pozharskyi, an executive of the corrupt Ukrainian energy <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/31\/hunter-bidens-laptop-keeps-damning-joe-but-most-media-just-ignore-it\/\">company Burisma,<\/a> which was paying Hunter $83,333 a month at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Pozharskyi was in DC on March 30 and 31, 2016, the calendar in Hunter\u2019s abandoned laptop shows.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2019\/10\/02\/ex-ukraine-prosecutor-claims-he-was-told-to-back-off-biden-linked-firm-probe-report\/\">chief prosecutor, Viktor Shokin,<\/a> who had been investigating Burisma\u2019s owner, Mykola Zlochevsky, the exiled energy minister of the former Russia-aligned government.<\/p>\n<p>The month before he was removed from office, Shokin issued warrants for <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/03\/lobbying-firm-linked-to-hunter-biden-probed-by-doj-report\/\">Zlochevsky\u2019s arrest and seized<\/a> all his \u201cmovable and immovable property,\u201d including four houses, two plots of land and a Rolls-Royce Phantom, reported the Kyiv Post and Interfax-Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Two weeks later, Shokin was fired by then-President <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/02\/26\/ex-ukraine-president-petro-poroshenko-dons-battle-gear-in-kyiv\/\">Petro Poroshenko,<\/a> although it took a month for parliament to ratify the decision.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/03\/devine-biden-392.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all\"><img Relations, that he had forced Poroshenko to fire Shokin by threatening to withhold $1 billion in US aid for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Biden claimed that Shokin was corrupt. Shokin, in turn, claimed that he was pressured to resign because he was pursuing Hunter\u2019s boss, Zlochevsky, for corruption.<\/p>\n<p>In a 2019 interview with Ukrainian publication Strana, Shokin claimed he had been planning \u201cto interrogate [Hunter] Biden Jr\u201d before he was fired. But so far he and his defenders have just tried to shoot the messenger. That tactic is not working, because the American people are rapidly getting up to speed on the laptop scandal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Rasmussen poll, conducted Monday and Tuesday nights, shows that more than two-thirds of voters have been \u201cclosely\u201d following news reports about Hunter.
