But first, Republican leaders detailed the dire reality of the Biden administration\u2019s failed agenda, pointing directly to skyrocketing gas prices, inflation, and an insecure border.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The GOP is here, McCarthy said, to listen to the\u00a0America public and find solutions to problems \u201cthat Democrats created.\u201d That includes one of the central concerns ignored by Democrats \u2014 rising gas prices. McCarthy noted that Americans will end up paying thousands more due to Biden\u2019s failed policies with the continually rising prices of homes and consumer goods. And those are not the only things rising, he said. Crime is also rising due to Democrat policies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cCan we afford their policies when it comes to the border?\u201d he continued, mentioning\u00a0fentanyl pouring across the border.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cCan we afford their foreign policy,\u201d the Republican leader added before turning it over to Scalise, who noted that Americans everywhere are \u201ctalking about the same things\u201d \u2014 angry about high prices and the far-left policies that \u201cgot us to this point.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">It was Biden who said, \u201cno new pipelines, no new drilling for oil and gas in America,\u201d Scalise said, adding that is comes as no surprise that a year and a half later, prices skyrocketed \u201cwell over 50 percent.\u201d That is why Republicans are creating these task forces to solve these problems \u2014\u00a0fixing gas increases, securing the border, addressing inflation, and allowing parents to have a role in their children\u2019s education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">What will Biden do when they are in the majority and they send these solutions to his desk, Scalise pondered. Rep. Stefanik added that the \u201cstakes could not be higher\u201d for Americans, who are facing the worst\u00a0inflation crisis in 40 years and paying the highest gas prices in history. She added that Republicans plan to fire \u201clame duck\u201d House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-NY) \u201conce and for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Task Force Leaders of each topic are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jobs and the Economy: Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)<\/li>\n<li>Big Tech Censorship and Data: Rep. Cathy Rodgers (WA)<\/li>\n<li>Future of American Freedoms: Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH)<\/li>\n<li>Energy, Climate and Conservation: Rep.\u00a0 Garret Graves (R-LA)<\/li>\n<li>American Security: Rep. John Katko (R-NY)<\/li>\n<li>Healthy Futures: Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY) and Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL)<\/li>\n<li>China Accountability: Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the press conference, each Republican member provided a brief preview of the agenda items of their task force . Rep. Rodgers of the \u201cBig Tech Censorship and Data\u201d task force, for example, called\u00a0 Big Tech a \u201cdestructive force\u201d and used the censorship of Hunter Biden\u2019s \u201cLaptop From Hell\u201d as an example. Rep. Jordan of the \u201cFuture of American Freedoms\u201d task force vowed that a Judiciary Committee led by Republicans will focus on defending and respecting the Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and America\u2019s liberties.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0Rep. Graves of the \u201c<\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">Energy, Climate and Conservation\u201d task force noted that Biden has focused on the best interest of \u201cother countries\u201d on energy, deeming him a<\/span>\u00a0\u201ccomplete failure\u201d in this realm.
