Ted Cruz (R-TX). A graduate from both Harvard College and Harvard Law School, the nominee is also a member of Harvard\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harvard.edu\/about\/leadership-and-governance\/board-of-overseers\/\">Board of Overseers<\/a>, a governing body.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>As Breitbart News has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/01\/24\/supreme-court-to-rule-on-racial-preferences-in-college-admissions\/\">reported<\/a>, Harvard is being sued by an organization called\u00a0Students for Fair Admissions, which claims the university\u2019s affirmative action admissions policy discriminates against Asian applicants to benefit other applicants.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In 2018, evidence produced at trial suggested that Harvard used a variety of measures to ensure that more black and Latino applicants were admitted. As Breitbart News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2018\/10\/17\/plaintiffs-evidence-in-harvard-trial-proves-discrimination-against-asian-americans\/\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>According to internal Harvard documents presented at the trial, the university would only send an invitation to Asian students if they scored higher than their white counterparts.<\/p>\n<p>The documents specified the score that would be required before a student would be invited to apply. Harvard would send an application invitation to any white student who scored 1310 on the PSAT or higher. They would send an invite to any Asian female who score 1350 or higher. And they would only send an invite to Asian males who scored 1380 or higher.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em> noted, Harvard also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/06\/15\/us\/harvard-asian-enrollment-applicants.html\">rated<\/a> Asian-American applicants lower on a measurement of \u201cpersonality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The case,\u00a0<em>Students for Fair Admission v. President &#038; Fellows of Harvard College<\/em>, No. 20-1199, has made its way through the courts and the Supreme Court agreed in January to hear it.<\/p>\n<p>There were also questions about whether Judge Jackson could rule fairly on the case, given that she was specifically selected by President Joe Biden because of her race and her gender.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joel B.
