The footage has nothing to do with the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian military claims to have destroyed 97 Russian aircraft, 121 helicopters and 24 aerial drones as of March 21, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/ukraines-air-defense-becomes-its-surprising-trump-card-against-russia-11647970237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a>. The country\u2019s air defense forces, most of it left over from the Soviet collapse, have proven to be effective in the conflict, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-minute Facebook video shows multiple helicopters firing on an unidentified city as ground troops and anti-aircraft artillery attempt to down them. \u201cTwo helicopters of the Russian Military were shot down near Kiev,\u201d the caption reads. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/02\/24\/fact-check-russian-airplane-struck-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Video Show A Russian Fighter Jet Being Shot Down In Ukraine?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A reverse image search found that the footage actually depicts gameplay from <a href=\"https:\/\/arma3.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ARMA 3<\/a>, a military-style video game published by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bohemia.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bohemia Interactive<\/a>. The video was posted March 4 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tRrScAKL_gc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> with the title \u201cTwo helicopters of the Russian Military were shot down near Kiev | ARMA 3: Military Simulator.\u201d<\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>The Facebook video and the YouTube video share the same title, though the Facebook post removed the words \u201cARMA 3: Military Simulator.\u201d The YouTube channel that originally posted the video, called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCBcyMVCXMfx9i_yWXvvX8WQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Milsim Studio<\/a>,\u201d has published several videos depicting combat in ARMA 3, including simulations of Russian jets and tanks being destroyed by anti-artillery fire.<\/p>\n<p>Several videos of gameplay footage from ARMA 3 have been misattributed to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
