Updegrove, president and CEO of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library, for an event during Women\u2019s History Month on Tuesday where she discussed the importance of upholding <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a devout Catholic, mother of five children in six years and one week,\u201d Pelosi said, adding that she tells pro-lifers, \u201cWhen you have five children in six years, then we will talk about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was right for me, it\u2019s not for me to say whats for somebody else,\u201d Pelosi said. \u201cNor is it right for you, nor is it right for the Supreme Court. This has been a precedent of the court that should be upheld by the court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The California Democrat said that she respects people\u2019s opinions about how they see the law in their personal lives, but then criticized pro-life Americans as \u201cpeople who don\u2019t believe in governance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey don\u2019t believe in government protecting the environment, they don\u2019t believe in the government protecting people\u2019s voting rights, but they\u2019re really big-time government in your bedroom,\u201d she said. \u201cWhether it\u2019s a woman\u2019s right to choose, LGBTQ, whatever it is. The answer to crisis pregnancies is not violence but love, for both mother and child,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/06\/archbishop-cordileone-biden-pelosi-abortion\/\">Cordileone said<\/a> on another occasion.<\/p>\n<p>Discussing whether Catholic priests have ever given her any \u201cdifficulties\u201d about receiving communion, Pelosi described herself in 2018 as a \u201cregular communicant.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<div data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\">\n<p class=\"font--body font-copy gray-darkest ma-0 pb-md\" data-el=\"text\">\u201cI think some of it is regional,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/religion\/2021\/05\/02\/pelosi-archbishop-communion\/\">said in a 2018 interview<\/a>. \u201cIt depends on the bishop in a certain region. Fortunately, for me it has not \u2014 Communion has not been withheld and I\u2019m a regular communicant so that would be a severe blow to me if that were the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-el=\"text\">Pelosi\u2019s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<p data-el=\"text\">President Joe Biden has also\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/catholic-vote-accuses-biden-of-touting-his-faith-while-promoting-pro-death-policies?fbclid=IwAR08cU9dGGB-s1zbV8Svos-3Cn3xzzh96uro-5LbPsToLN7aP0aiX5m-tBA\">been repeatedly criticized<\/a> for embracing abortion as a Catholic. Media, lawmakers, and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/01\/30\/devout-catholic-joe-biden-media-amy-coney-barrett\/\">describe<\/a> him as a \u201cdevout Catholic\u201d when discussing his abortion stances without noting his divergence from Catholic teaching.<\/p>\n<p>Though he has frequently referenced his Catholic faith throughout his political career, Biden heads a pro-abortion administration in which radical legislation, like the Equality Act and the Women\u2019s Health Protection Act, is championed. He has also called for <em>Roe v.
