The \u201cWrecking Ball\u201d singer was on her way to Paraguay when the incident occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTo my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunci\u00f3n. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,\u201d she shared with her 162 million followers on Instagram early Wednesday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cMy crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing. We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. \ud83d\udc94 I LOVE YOU,\u201d the 29-year-old continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cyrus also shared a video of the raging storm and a photo of the damaged plane as it looked after getting struck by lighting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Cbb860UOQEP\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\"><\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The pop star\u2019s Instagram comments section was instantly flooded with prayers, support, and messages of relief that everyone survived the incident unscathed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cTHANK GOD YOU ALL ARE SAFE \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd\u2708\ufe0f,\u201d designer Jeremy Scott said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI\u2019m glad everyone is safe, don\u2019t worry mc we understand, love you so much \ud83e\udd7a\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d a fan agreed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOmg that is terrifying. I\u2019m so happy you guys are okay \ud83d\ude2d\ud83d\ude13\ud83d\ude13 Geez you really never know when something life changing can happen,\u201d someone else said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Cyrus has been jetting around South America as part of her Miley Live tour. At the time her plane was struck, the \u201cParty In the U.S.A.\u201d singer had just finished a performance in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia. She is still slated to appear at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 26.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The official Twitter account for the Asunci\u00f3n music festival confirmed that the first day of the event, which was supposed to feature performances by Cyrus, Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, and others, had to be canceled due to flooding in the area, US Weekly <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/miley-cyrus-shares-update-after-plane-gets-struck-by-lightning\/\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While on stage at Lollapalooza Chile, fans asked Cyrus to play \u201cHoedown Throwdown\u201d as a means of mocking her 2007 breakup with singer Nick Jonas. The singer playfully read signs in the crowd, including one that said, \u201cF*** Nick Jonas.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI didn\u2019t say it! I didn\u2019t say it! Just one of the other signs!\u201d the pop star insisted while laughing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The video clip predictably found life on the internet, with fans sharing it far and wide. After the awkward sign reading, Cyrus began playing her other hit song, \u201c7 Things,\u201d which also referenced the Jonas split.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was angry when I wrote \u20187 Things.\u2019 I wanted to punish him, to get back at him for hurting me,\u201d Cyrus wrote her 2009 memoir, \u201cMiles to Go.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt starts with a list of what I \u2018hate.\u2019 \u2026 My heart knew from the start that it was going to be a love story.
