Despite those reasons for her nomination, Jackson stumbled through giving a definition of \u201cwoman\u201d when Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn asked the straightforward question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you provide a definition for the word \u2018woman\u2019?\u201d Blackburn asked during the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I can\u2019t,\u201d Jackson said after confirming the question.<\/p>\n<p>The progressive judge claimed she was unable to provide a definition because \u201cI\u2019m not a biologist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe meaning of the word woman is so unclear and controversial that you can\u2019t give me a definition?\u201d Blackburn pressed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSenator, in my work as a judge, what I do is I address disputes. If there\u2019s a dispute about a definition, people make arguments, and I look at the law and I decide,\u201d Jackson said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>As Blackburn noted in her response, the fact that Jackson couldn\u2019t give \u201ca straight answer about something as fundamental as what a woman is underscores the dangers of the kind of progressive education that we are hearing about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It also underscores the dangers of adding a radical progressive activist to the highest court in the land. Jackson apparently can\u2019t define what makes a woman a woman or a man a man, but somehow she\u2019s supposed to be trusted to faithfully interpret the Constitution and adjudicate Americans\u2019\u00a0rights from a seat on the Supreme Court bench.<\/p>\n<p>Already, a majority of the Supreme Court has shown an unwillingness to side with the science on sex and its definition. In\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/2019\/17-1618\"><em>Bostock v. Clayton County<\/em><\/a>, the court\u2019s liberal, justices joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Neil Gorsuch, rewrote Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to state that the prohibition of employment discrimination based on \u201csex\u201d includes \u201csexual orientation\u201d and \u201cgender identity.\u201d\u00a0Gorsuch authored the opinion, which argued that \u201can employer who fires an individual merely for being gay or transgender defies the law.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The ruling, which was heralded as a victory for \u201cequality,\u201d not only degraded Americans\u2019 natural rights but opened up the doors for the court to continue expanding key and concrete definitions as it pleases.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is only one word for what the Court has done today: legislation,\u201d Justice Samuel Alito wrote in his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/HarrisFuneralHomesOpinion.pdf\">dissent,<\/a> which was joined by Justice Clarence Thomas. \u201c\u2026A more brazen abuse of our authority to interpret statutes is hard to recall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The last thing Americans need is their judicial line of defense to be even more corrupted by someone who refuses to acknowledge what a woman is. Democrats, the corrupt corporate media, and even some of the GOP establishment are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/22\/democrats-smear-josh-hawley-for-revealing-they-dont-care-if-supreme-court-justices-love-perverts-and-hate-the-constitution\/\">fighting tooth and nail and even lying to push for Jackson\u2019s confirmation<\/a>, but the nominee\u2019s lenience on child porn offenders, ties to and endorsements from the abortion industry, and inability to answer the simplest of questions should disqualify her from assuming the bench. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p>\n  Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and co-producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
