Marsha Blackburn that she could not define the word \u201cwoman\u201d at her Tuesday confirmation hearing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan you provide a definition for the word \u2018woman?&#8217;\u201d Blackburn asked, to which Jackson replied, \u201cCan I provide a definition? No, I can\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can\u2019t?\u201d Blackburn pressed. \u201cNot in this context, I\u2019m not a biologist,\u201d the nominee interjected. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/22\/ketanji-brown-jackson-child-pornography-sentencing-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden\u2019s Supreme Court Nominee Defends Record On Child Porn Sentencing)\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The senator asked if the term is too controversial and unclear for her to provide a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/20\/what-is-a-woman-matt-walsh-non-binary-transgenderism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">definition<\/a>. Jackson said that her role as a judge is to address disputes about a definition and make a final decision after reviewing the controversy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that you can\u2019t give me a straight answer about something as fundamental as what a woman is, that underscores the dangers of the kind of progressive education that we are hearing about,\u201d Blackburn said. \u201cJust last week, an entire generation of young girls watched as our taxpayer-funded institutions permitted a biological man to compete and beat a biological woman in the NCAA Swimming Championships.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The senator asked what message transgender swimmer <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/21\/virginia-tech-swimmer-reka-gyorgy-slams-ncaa-rules-lia-thomas-compete\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lia Thomas\u2019<\/a> victory sends to girls, to which <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/22\/josh-hawley-judge-jackson-child-porn-offender-scotus-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jackson<\/a> replied that the topic is being \u201chotly discussed\u201d and could possibly reach the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>During her opening statement Monday, Blackburn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/ketanji-brown-jackson-hearing-marsha-blackburn-critical-race-theory-transgender-2022-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called out<\/a> the Georgetown Day School\u2019s school board, to which Jackson serves as a member, for allegedly teaching children as young as 5-years-old that they can choose their gender and learn about Critical Race Theory.<\/p>\n<p>The senator also asked Jackson on Tuesday if she believes schools should allow children to choose their gender, to which the nominee refused to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson told Republican Tennessee Sen.
