Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson about her support for the \u201c1619 Project\u201d and Critical Race Theory during her confirmation hearing on Tuesday, catching her in several contradictions.<\/p>\n<p>As Breitbart News has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/17\/scotus-nominee-ketanji-brown-jackson-inspired-by-critical-race-theory-1619-project-black-lives-matter\/\">reported<\/a>, Judge Jackson delivered a speech in 2020 in which she praised the 1619 Project, which falsely claims the American Revolution was fought to preserve slavery; and Critical Race Theory, which holds that American institutions are systemically racist. She also supported protests linked with the anti-police Black Lives Matter movement.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Asked about the 1619 Project, Judge Jackson professed not to have known it had been debunked. She also said Critical Race Theory was a mere academic theory \u201cabout the ways in which race interacts with various institutions. It doesn\u2019t come up in my work as a judge.\u201d She added that she did not intend to bring it into her work as a potential Supreme Court justice.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tedcruz?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@tedcruz<\/a> grills Judge Jackson on her stance on critical race theory. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RxXV22Zr4p\">pic.twitter.com\/RxXV22Zr4p<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 MRCTV (@mrctv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mrctv\/status\/1506345023797100544?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Cruz then quoted a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/565128110\/Fairness-in-Federal-Sentencing?secret_password=sKDL3GB4v77TVSDmV4Yv\">speech<\/a> Judge Jackson delivered in 2015 to students in which she said that critical race theory affected sentencing policy. In an uncomfortable exchange, Judge Jackson backtracked, saying she thought he was only referring to public schools and not private schools.<\/p>\n<p><em>Joel B.
