It has nothing to do with the recent crash in China.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 passenger plane carrying 132 passengers crashed into a hillside in the Guangxi region of China on Monday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-asia-china-60819760\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BBC News<\/a>. Rescue teams have not found any sign of survivors, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/MltF9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video<\/a> shared to Twitter, which has garnered over 300 retweets, appears to show a video from inside a plane plummeting toward the ground. Screaming can be heard throughout the 10-second video, \u201cA Boeing 737 just crashed in southern China,\u201d reads the tweet\u2019s caption. \u201cThis was one of the last moment recorded on the plane. maybe the only moment. Viewers\u2019 discretion advised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A reverse image search revealed the clip was originally shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q5QnJ9OHkBI&#038;t=573s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube<\/a> in March 2019 by user <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/BullBosphorus\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bull Bosphorous<\/a> with the title \u201cEthiopia Plane Crash, Ethiopia Airlines B737 MAX Crashes After Takeoff, Addis Ababa Airport [XP11].\u201d The video was created using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.x-plane.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">X-Plane 11<\/a>, an online flight simulator, according to the title.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2022\/03\/09\/fact-check-russian-aircraft-downed-ukraine-photo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does This Photo Show A Russian SU-34 Shot Down Over Kyiv?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The user, who regularly publishes simulation videos, provided the following Disclaimer in the video\u2019s description: \u201cTHIS IS NOT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED, THIS IS ONLY A SIMULATED FLIGHT CRASH FOR ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES FLIGHT ET302.\u201d Another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tggsRqgT_ec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">video<\/a> from the channel depicting a simulation of the Chinese plane crash does not feature the purported clip.<\/p>\n<p>On March 10, 2019, an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max crashed on its way to Nairobi, killing all 149 passengers and eight crew, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/no-survivors-ethiopian-airlines-crashes-157-aboard-114108493.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AFP<\/a>. The crash was reportedly caused by faulty sensor software giving the aircraft incorrect data, causing the plane to stall, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2020\/03\/09\/813740173\/ethiopian-officials-say-faulty-boeing-software-played-role-in-deadly-737-max-cra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NPR<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Actual footage of the Boeing 737 crash in China has been published by numerous outlets including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/china-eastern-airlines-plane-crashes-in-guangxi-province-11647852654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/2022\/03\/21\/chinese-airliner-crashes-133-people-board-state-media-says\/7117959001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USA Today<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-03-21\/china-plane-crash-update-132-people-on-boeing-737-feared-dead\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A video shared on Twitter allegedly shows footage from inside a Boeing 737 plane moments before it crashed in southern China.
