Josh Hawley, and it\u2019s obvious why: The Missouri Republican\u2019s questions about Jackson\u2019s lenient track record on child porn offenders threaten Democrats\u2019 goal of transforming the high court into a bench of reliable leftist activists.<\/p>\n<p>Even before Jackson\u2019s confirmation hearings officially began on Monday, the left\u2019s information operation designed to discredit Hawley for daring to question Biden\u2019s self-admitted affirmative action pick ramped up. When Hawley pointed out that Jackson has a history of going easy on criminals who possessed and distributed child pornography, he was smeared by the propaganda press, White House, and Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge Jackson has a pattern of letting child porn offenders off the hook for their appalling crimes, both as a judge and as a policymaker. She\u2019s been advocating for it since law school. Yet the same dishonest outlets and Democrats who worked to destroy Kavanaugh\u2019s life and chances of becoming a justice have teamed up to bury Hawley\u2019s concerns despite his constitutional duty to evaluate presidential nominees to the Supreme Court. <\/p>\n<p>As The Federalist\u2019s Rachel Bovard noted, \u201cDemocrats are already claiming that Hawley\u2019s critique of Jackson\u2019s judicial record rises to the same level as, say,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/09\/26\/michael-avenatti-identifies-kavanaugh-accuser-as-julie-swetnick.html\">entertaining completely unverified<\/a>\u00a0gang-rape allegations against a Supreme Court nominee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House first signaled its desire for Hawley\u2019s explosive tweets to go away last week when it claimed that Jackson\u2019s scandalous treatment of child porn offenders was just \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/seungminkim\/status\/1504477683308134401?s=20&#038;t=nof7wPi-IUI-0FhLLW1Lcw\">cherry-picked elements of her record out of context<\/a>,\u201d language later wielded against Hawley by The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2022\/03\/18\/josh-hawley-smears-ketanji-brown-jackson-child-porn-sex-offenders\/?utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_campaign=wp_main\">Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki disparaged Hawley in her daily press briefing, and Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates called the evidence of Jackson\u2019s \u201csoft on crime\u201d track record \u201ctoxic and weakly-presented misinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"z6dfaA5w4ITSkk81E0nS5OXHmPssYernlqCxqMyRYvugtTVLv7ouZ7NMQmdyONxIchB8KjFlzefD3HgGXLGUJwR6\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">WH Press Sec. This negative Hawley coverage was in turn amplified by the White House and Senate Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain tweeted WaPo\u2019s article to justify calling Hawley\u2019s worries \u201cfalse attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"HVhtQN3E5TzeUkxwCSe60o8BXGo7RjJpTVKsLFpiaayODjdYX1fLv0zGv6DqiMEUZAx\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lacking any effective basis to oppose Judge Jackson, her GOP opponents have resorted to false attacks.  Three Pinocchios for the latest slop:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CGtEzS6lQK\">https:\/\/t.co\/CGtEzS6lQK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ronald Klain (@WHCOS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WHCOS\/status\/1505185095057088512?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 19, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This Vox article, which Bates tweeted, accused Hawley of \u201cleveling a false and astonishing charge\u201d against Jackson but later admitted that she \u201cdid, indeed, sentence these seven offenders to less time in prison than these sentencing guidelines recommend.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/03\/18\/politics\/republican-attacks-scotus-nominee-sentencing-record\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2022\/03\/18\/josh-hawley-absurdly-suggests-that-ketanji-brown-jackson-has-a-soft-spot-for-child-predators\/\">Reason<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/republicans-hawley-ketanji-brown-jackson-supreme-court_n_6234b708e4b019fd812d8aab?eco\">and HuffPost<\/a> used similar tactics to justify Jackson\u2019s lenient sentencing history and attack Hawley. And even <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/21\/senate-democrats-praise-national-review-for-helping-their-ketanji-brown-jackson-confirmation-efforts\/\">National Review<\/a> pushed against Hawley in an article then used by Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin and Democrat Sen. Richard Blumenthal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudge, there have been several news organizations that have taken a look at the Senator from Missouri\u2019s charges. ABC News, CNN News, The Washington Post and others have concluded that they are inaccurate and unfair to you in their conclusions. In fact, one writer has said they are \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/03\/senator-hawleys-disingenuous-attack-against-judge-jacksons-record-on-child-pornography\/\">meritless<\/a>\u2018 to the point of unacceptable levels,\u201d Durbin claimed during the confirmation hearing on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>Even before Jackson\u2019s confirmation hearings began, the White House, Democrats, and the corrupt press were gearing up to take down and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alisondurkee\/2022\/03\/21\/ketanji-brown-jackson-supreme-court-hearing-gop-senators-use-confirmation-to-complain-about-kavanaugh-hearings-court-packing\/\">yell racist<\/a> at anyone who scrutinized Biden\u2019s nominee. <\/p>\n<p>Hawley\u2019s concerns are valid and deserve to be examined in Jackson\u2019s confirmation hearings, but the left doesn\u2019t like the opposition. When its foremost goal of radicalizing the nation\u2019s highest court is threatened by Republicans digging up inconvenient information, it predictably resorts to coordinated attacks from Democrats and cronies in the media.
