She did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki served as the organization\u2019s \u201ccommunications consultant\u201d and on the advisory board of the Demand Justice project Supreme Court Voter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/biden-white-house-pack-supreme-court-sixteen-thirty-paige-herwig\">Fox News reported<\/a>, while Herwig served as Demand Justice\u2019s deputy chief counsel.<\/p>\n<p>The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Demand Justice \u2013 a radical progressive dark-money group that backs Judge Jackson\u2019s nomination \u2013 is pushing Democrats to pack the Court.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sen. Marsha Blackburn (@MarshaBlackburn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MarshaBlackburn\/status\/1506287448451600390?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of conservative-leaning Americans for Public Trust, suggested to Fox News in April 2021 that Herwig services as\u00a0\u201can insider in the White House to help usher these judicial nominations through that fit Demand Justice\u2019s\u00a0criteria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want to add seats to the Supreme Court, they want\u00a0to add term limits for justices, they want to overhaul it and swing not just the Supreme Court\u00a0but all levels of the judiciary more progressive,\u201d\u00a0said Sutherland.<\/p>\n<p>When Herwig was appointed to the White House, Demand Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/demandjustice.org\/demand-justice-praises-biden-selection-of-judicial-nominations-expert-paige-herwig\/\">celebrated in a statement<\/a> that noted Biden was committed to nominating\u00a0diverse \u201cpublic defenders, civil rights lawyers, and legal aid attorneys\u201d to federal judgeships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident-elect Biden is off to a phenomenal start when it comes to judicial nominations,\u201d said Demand Justice Chief Counsel Christopher Kang in a statement at the time. \u201cPaige Herwig is a brilliant lawyer and committed public servant who knows the judicial nomination process inside and out, and she\u2019s been on the front lines of rethinking how Democrats should fight for our courts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one is better positioned to carry forward President-elect Biden\u2019s commitment to rebalancing our judicial system,\u201d added Kang, who served as Deputy White House Counsel during the Obama-Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/huddle\/2022\/03\/22\/dark-money-porn-gitmo-questions-for-kbj-00019153\">also denied<\/a> \u201cmuch\u201d knowledge of Demand Justice, Politico reported Tuesday \u2014 though Booker has <a href=\"https:\/\/demandjustice.org\/media-advisory-demand-justice-to-host-booker-harris-civil-rights-leaders-at-event-to-oppose-trump-nominee-farr\/\">personally spoken<\/a> at a Demand Justice event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI honestly don\u2019t know that much about them,\u201d Booker, who is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you pick the ACLU, or the [Center for American Progress] those are groups that we\u2019ve worked with. They\u2019re not to us what the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society are to\u201d Republicans, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire previously reported that leftist groups, activists, and lawmakers seek to intimidate, threaten, and smear the reputations of Supreme Court justices through a\u00a0decades-long campaign to control the court.<\/p>\n<p>That campaign has heightened in recent months as Democrats and leftist activists observe Justice Clarence Thomas\u2019s influence growing and realize they have \u201clost their stronghold on the court,\u201d Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino said in a phone interview.<\/p>\n<p>The left has long taken the court for granted, Severino said, believing the Supreme Court was \u201ctheir ace in the hole for getting policies achieved that they couldn\u2019t do through the elected branches.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that we actually have conservative, originalist majority in the court is making the left crazy,\u201d Severino said.\u00a0\u201cThat is really what\u2019s making them so outraged and is driving some of these new lows in our politics surrounding the courts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest growing conservative media companies for breaking news, investigative reporting, sports, podcasts, in-depth analysis, books, and entertainment for a reason: because we believe in what we do.
