Of those, 40 percent say they are experiencing \u201csignificant\u201d hardship. Given that, it comes as no surprise that the economy is the top issue for respondents.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">According to the survey, \u201cWhen asked about who they blame for an increase in gas prices\u201d specifically, \u201ca plurality (39%) blame the Biden Administration, 21% blame the sanctions on Russia, and 18% blame gas and oil companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Biden has long refused to take responsibility for skyrocketing gas prices, blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as gas and oil companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sick of this stuff. \u2026 The American people think the reason for inflation is the government spending more money,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/11\/joe-biden-rages-im-sick-of-americans-blaming-me-for-inflation-not-vladimir-putin\/\">raged<\/a> this month. \u201cSimply. Not. True.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats didn\u2019t cause this problem. Vladimir Putin did,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The Biden administration even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2022\/03\/15\/tiktok-influencers-blame-putin-for-gas-prices-after-biden-call\/\"><span>held<\/span><\/a> a special briefing for dozens of TikTok influencers, who are now, suddenly, blaming rising gas prices on Russia and the pandemic.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy is gas so expensive, and why is the United States inflation rate at a four-decade high?\u201d TikTok influencer Ellie Zeiler said in a video after the briefing. \u201cI had the opportunity to ask the White House why gas down the street is $7 and here\u2019s what they said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe obvious reason \u2014 we are getting out of a two-year pandemic,\u201d she said before touting the White House talking points on Russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia is one of the top three producers of oil and it is actually their No. 1 revenue source,\u201d she added. Now, with Putin starting this horrific fight between Ukraine and Russia, nobody wants to work with him and do international trade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>U.S. gas prices have continued to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/03\/11\/gas-prices-soar-record-high-fifth-consecutive-day\/\">break records<\/a> throughout the month, but the national average now sits at $4.242, with prices as high as $6.584 in areas of California.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A Convention of States Action\/Trafalgar Group survey released this month found a majority of Americans indicating that Biden should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/16\/poll-majority-say-biden-should-prioritize-increasing-american-energy-production\/\"><span>prioritize<\/span><\/a> increasing American energy production \u2014 something he quashed upon taking office, nixing the Keystone Pipeline and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/14\/report-drilling-permits-plummet-under-biden-after-peaking-in-april\/\">crushing<\/a> American energy independence through bad policy.<\/p>\n<p>The survey was conducted from March 18-20, 2022, among 1,033 U.S. voters and has a margin of error of\u00a0+\/- 3 percentage points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A plurality of Americans blame the Biden administration for high gas prices, an Emerson Polling survey released this week found.
