Lindsey Graham reminded President Joe Biden\u2019s Supreme Court nominee Tuesday of the anti-Catholic line of questioning that Justice Amy Coney Barrett was subjected to during her confirmation hearings.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein sparked ongoing backlash when she told Barrett: \u201cThe dogma lives loudly within you, and that\u2019s of concern.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During her confirmation hearings, media, Democrats, and activists\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/26\/amy-coney-barrett-supreme-court-attacks-democrats-media\/\">portrayed<\/a> Justice Amy Coney Barrett as an \u201cextremist\u201d Catholic radical determined to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> and take a knife to the Affordable Care Act, even suggesting that Barrett adopted her children for nefarious reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Barrett\u2019s Catholicism made her unfit to serve as a judge, Democrats and activists suggested, and media disingenuously <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/22\/media-catholic-people-of-praise-amy-coney-barrett-handmaids-tale\/\">highlighted<\/a> Barrett\u2019s reported connections to the Catholic group People of Praise, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/23\/reuters-amy-coney-barrett-handmaids-tale-people-of-praise\/\">falsely reporting<\/a> that the group was the inspiration for Margaret Atwood\u2019s \u201cThe Handmaid\u2019s Tale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Graham referenced this treatment on Tuesday morning as Jackson took questions from the Senate Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LindseyGrahamSC?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@LindseyGrahamSC<\/a> references treatment of ACB in questioning Judge Jackson: \u201cHow would you feel if a senator up here said of your faith, the dogma lives loudly within you and that&#8217;s of concern\u2026Would you find that offensive? I would if I were you.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aXcIpf1mEX\">pic.twitter.com\/aXcIpf1mEX<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mary Margaret Olohan (@MaryMargOlohan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1506286001110630409?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 22, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhat faith are you by the way? Could you fairly judge a Catholic,\u201d he questioned a visibly surprised Jackson, who said that she is protestant and non-denominational.\u00a0\u201cHow important is your faith to you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson responded that her faith is very important to her, reminding Graham that \u201cthere is no religious test in the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be none with me,\u201d he responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very important to set aside ones personal views about things in the role of a judge,\u201d Jackson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn a scale of 1-10, how faithful would you say you are,\u201d pursued Graham. \u201cI go to church probably three times a year, so that speaks poorly of me. Do you attend church regularly?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jackson said that she was reluctant to discuss her faith \u201cin this way\u201d because she wants to be mindful for the need for the public \u201cto have confidence in my ability to separate out my personal views.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow would you feel if a senator up here said [of] your faith, \u2018The dogma lives loudly within you and that\u2019s of concern,&#8217;\u201d Graham asked. \u201cHow would you feel if someone up here on our side said \u2018you attend church too much for me\u2019 or \u2018your faith is a little bit different to me,\u2019 and they would suggest it would effect your decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWould you find that offensive?
