Don Young, who recently died at the age of 88.<\/p>\n<p>Palin shared the remarks during an interview on Newsmax\u2019s \u201cEric Bolling: The Balance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I were asked to serve in the House and take his place I would be humbled and honored. Gabby Giffords and killed six others.<\/p>\n<p>The jury trial was delayed from its original date after Palin tested <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/sarah-palin-tests-positive-for-covid-19-could-delay-start-of-ny-times-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">positive<\/a> for COVID-19. The case was ultimately dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>Young passed away on Friday. He was the oldest member of the House of Representatives. The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-alaska-gop-congressman-don-young-passes-away-at-88\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce Congressman Don Young (R-AK), the Dean of the House and revered champion for Alaska, passed away today while traveling home to Alaska to be with the state and people that he loved. His beloved wife Anne was by his side,\u201d Zach Brown, a spokesperson from his office, said in a statement announcing his death.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Young had served in Congress since 1973, making him the longest-serving member of the House.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"font-copy font--article-body gray-darkest ma-0 pb-md\" data-qa=\"drop-cap-letter\" data-el=\"text\"><em>\u201cBorn on June 9, 1933, in Meridian, California, Young grew up on a family farm. He earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in teaching at Chico State College, now known as California State University, Chico, in 1958.
