Why would you? Woke corporations cancel their advertisements on conservative shows and platforms all the time. It\u2019s hardly even news at this point. Just the cost of doing business.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate America wants it both ways \u2014 they want conservatives to buy their goods and services\u00a0\u2014 but they also want to virtue signal to the woke mob and their 23-year-old employees by publicly repudiating those same conservative customers.<\/p>\n<p>Well, here\u2019s the thing. I do remember. I remember every time one of these cowardly companies betray us \u2014 and it is a betrayal.<\/p>\n<p>Make no mistake, they know our politics before they advertise with us. That\u2019s why they advertise with us! We reach a large audience that they want to sell to. We go out of our way to make absolutely sure they know what they\u2019re getting into. And they do, because it works. They\u2019re happy that we leverage our personal credibility to tell our audience about their products. Then, at the first sign of trouble from the mob \u2014 in the case of Harry\u2019s Razors, it was a Twitter account with two \u2014 yes, two\u00a0\u2014 followers attacking\u00a0them \u2014 they not only pull their sponsorships, but publicly attack us and that very audience they paid to reach.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I don\u2019t mind any company pulling their sponsorship. That\u2019s their right. It\u2019s the public attack I can\u2019t abide.<\/p>\n<p>Harry\u2019s said our views \u2014 in this case, that gender dysphoria is a mental illness \u2014 were \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/daily-wire-cofounder-rips-harrys-razors-for-dropping-advertising-over-misalignment-of-values-screw-harrys\">inexcusable<\/a>.\u201d They said it publicly, showing the whole world how pure they are, and also signaling to our other advertisers that the only excusable thing to do is to also cancel us. It\u2019s a direct attack on our business, and a direct attack on our audience.<\/p>\n<p>So what are we to do?<\/p>\n<p>Well, what conservatives have been doing for years is lose. We take the L. We get a little poorer. We hire fewer people. It gets a little harder to make our shows profitable. And we bitch. Oh, how we complain. The Left is terrible. It\u2019s cancel culture. They\u2019re trying to silence us! And then we beg. For donations, mostly. Stand up to the censorious Left, we shout, by sending us your money. And what you get for that money is\u2026 Well, more losing, more bitching, and more begging.<\/p>\n<p>As far as actual action, at most, we rally for a good old fashioned boycott. This costs the offending company in question virtually nothing and is over in virtually no time. Of course it is, because in the end, we need their products. Nike may endorse Colin Kaepernick, but we still need shoes. Hollywood may sucker punch us, but we still need entertainment. Harry\u2019s may call us inexcusable, but we still need a good shave.<\/p>\n<p>Well, I\u2019m tired of losing. I want to win. I want to create\u00a0culture. And I want to have a freaking good time doing it, because losing\u2026 Losing sucks.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why, today, The Daily Wire is launching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihateharrys.com\">Jeremy\u2019s Razors<\/a>, a direct competitor to Harry\u2019s where people with inexcusable values like mine can get a great razor without giving their money to people who clearly hate them.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s why The Daily Wire launched its own film company last year. So people with inexcusable values like mine can get great entertainment without giving their money to people who clearly hate them.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s why The Daily Wire is in the podcasting business and the news and commentary business, and the technology business. Business, not charity.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re a for-profit company. We don\u2019t make our money by complaining and begging. We make our money by building value and selling it to people who think it\u2019s worth buying.<\/p>\n<p>The Left is happy to bifurcate the culture, ripping it in two. They\u2019re convinced there will be no economic consequences for this because, as I said, you need their products.<\/p>\n<p>So, to win, we have to rip the economy\u00a0in two. We have to give conservatives their own companies and their own products to buy. We have to build market alternatives that, in success, will force the Left to take real losses if they don\u2019t compete directly for our business.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Wire is doing just that. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihateharrys.com\">Jeremy\u2019s Razors<\/a> is doing just that.<\/p>\n<p>Will it work? I don\u2019t know. It certainly won\u2019t work perfectly, this being the real world.<\/p>\n<p>But I know what won\u2019t work \u2014 what doesn\u2019t work. And what doesn\u2019t work is the non-profit Right losing its way to higher donations from a conservative movement that still has to actually spend its real money paying the Left for goods and services.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a sure recipe for failure.<\/p>\n<p>If we want to win, we have to compete. And competition means building a future, not just lamenting the loss of the past. It means fighting in the economy and culture, not just complaining about the economy and culture. And it means starting for-profit companies that create economic incentives for better behavior.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what animates me. That\u2019s what drives The Daily Wire.
