Parts of the city have come under fire repeatedly from Russian forces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>East of Kyiv, the mayor of Boryspil is urging residents to flee the area if possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no urgent need to be in the city at the moment. Fighting is already raging around the region. I appeal to the population, be smart and leave the city if you can,\u201d Boryspil mayor Volodymyr Borysenko said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/borysenkoboryspil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> statement posted to Facebook, CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/europe\/live-news\/ukraine-russia-putin-news-03-22-22\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian forces are also celebrating a win west of Kyiv in the city of Makariv, about 40 miles west of Kyiv. Ukrainian forces claim they have taken back the town, as \u201cthe Ukrainian flag was raised over the town of Makariv.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u26a1\ufe0fUkrainian troops liberate Makariv.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on March 21 that \u201cthe Ukrainian flag was raised over the town of Makariv\u201d and Russian forces have been pushed back. The number includes about 3.3 million people who have left the nation since the start of the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong the responsibilities of those who wage war, everywhere in the world, is the suffering inflicted on civilians who are forced to flee their homes. The war in Ukraine is so devastating that 10 million have fled \u2014 either displaced inside the country, or as refugees abroad,\u201d Filippo Grandi, the U.N.
