Winds were moderate at less than 12 miles per hour, and visibility was 10 miles. Rain was forecast for the evening, but no precipitation had been measured at the time of the crash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Times reported that a manager for Wuzhou City Beichen Mining confirmed to the newspaper that their surveillance camera caught an image that appeared to be the plane plunging straight into the ground.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A Boeing 737 has crashed in China with 132 people on board.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese President Xi Jinping called for an &#8220;all-out effort&#8221; in rescue operations for the passengers and for any safety hazards to be investigated.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kNtjxwrjTG\">https:\/\/t.co\/kNtjxwrjTG<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/W7x92XA4wr\">pic.twitter.com\/W7x92XA4wr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 USA TODAY (@USATODAY) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USATODAY\/status\/1505918402061287431?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 21, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe cause of the plane crash is still under investigation, and the company will actively cooperate with relevant investigations,\u201d China Eastern said in a statement. \u201cThe company expresses its deep condolences to the passengers and crew members who died in the plane crash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The crash stunned the communist nation as dictator Xi Jinping ordered an immediate investigation into the crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChina Eastern Airlines has grounded all its 737-800s,\u201d BBC\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-asia-china-60819760#:~:text=China%20Eastern%20Airlines%20has%20grounded,be%20at%20the%20crash%20site.\">reported<\/a>. \u201cMore than 600 emergency responders are said to be at the crash site. Firefighters reached the scene first and managed to extinguish a blaze in the hills caused by the crash.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The BBC noted that the crash appears to be the first major crash involving an airliner in China in approximately 12 years.<\/p>\n<p>A person who witnessed the plane crash told state media that \u201cthe plane fell vertically from the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough I was very far away, I could still see that it was a plane,\u201d the witness, who was only identified by his surname, Liu,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/03\/21\/china\/china-plane-crash-guangxi-intl-hnk\/index.html\">said<\/a>. \u201cThe plane did not smoke during the fall. The fire started after it fell into the mountain, followed by a lot of smoke. My heart was thumping.
