As a matter of fact, it explicitly protects men, who even the WSJ concedes \u201chave physiological traits that could provide an advantage in swimming, including larger lung capacity, leaner body mass and hearts that circulate oxygen more efficiently.\u201d Under the NCAA policy, men can still participate in a sex category they don\u2019t belong in so long as they don\u2019t reach arbitrary and subjective hormone levels. <\/p>\n<p>Not only do the NCAA\u2019s \u201crules\u201d fail to protect women\u2019s sports now, but they certainly will not hold up against the rise in transgender athletes and activism that the next generation will inevitably bring. <\/p>\n<p>Generation Z has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/lifestyle\/2022\/02\/17\/adults-identifying-lgbt-gen-z\/\">record number<\/a> of adults who identify as LGBT: more than 20 percent. From 2012 to 2021, the percentage of U.S. adults who identify as gay, transgender, bisexual, or other has doubled from 3.5 percent to 7.1 percent and is likely to keep growing. <\/p>\n<p>Activism pushing male athletes to steal the spotlight from females who have worked just as hard (or harder) isn\u2019t waning, it\u2019s growing. Leftists aided by the corporate media are fighting against Republican states that ban boys from playing on girls-only sports teams. Anyone who acknowledges the truth about biological sex is smeared as transphobic and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/21\/the-babylon-bees-twitter-resistance-is-a-lesson-in-taking-on-tech-tyrants\/\">banned by Big Tech.<\/a> The NCAA <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/04\/13\/rick-scott-blasts-ncaa-for-threatening-to-withdraw-championships-from-florida-over-transgender-sports-ban\/\">threatened<\/a> to move championship games from GOP-run states that took action to protect women because \u201conly locations where hosts can commit to providing an environment that is safe, healthy and free of discrimination should be selected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, states such as Florida that have prohibited radical gender ideology from being promoted in young public school classrooms are facing backlash from some of the biggest voices in the sports industry which have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportspromedia.com\/news\/espn_acquires_ncaa_rights_for_us500_million\/#:~:text=ESPN%20has%20signed%20a%20US,of%20the%202023%2D24%20season.\">multimillion-dollar deals<\/a> with the NCAA. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>The WSJ\u2019s claim that Thomas was only making waves at the NCAA championship as \u201can extreme outlier\u201d is not only faulty but ignorant. The erasing women problem isn\u2019t going away and Thomas is no anomaly. <\/p>\n<p>Already, plenty of institutions and companies have ceded ground to Thomas and other male athletes who have easily beat female competitors and even\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10282301\/Transgender-UPenn-swimmer-Lia-Thomas-smashes-records-weekend-meets-14-SECONDS-ahead-rival.html\">smashed records that women have not yet reached<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/06\/21\/female-athletes-sidelined-as-biological-male-advances-to-olympics-to-compete-in-womens-weightlifting\/\">As a result, many girls and women<\/a> have already been sidelined by men who have used their biological strengths in female competitions.
