As of Friday, March 18, the national gas average stood at $4.274. California is reporting some of the highest prices in the nation, seeing an average of $5.800.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_20263718\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2022\/03\/California-gas-station-ap.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">A California street sign is shown next to the price board at a gas station in San Francisco, on March 7, 2022 (AP Photo\/Jeff Chiu, File).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Biden, however, has refused to take responsibility for bad policy \u2014 namely stampeding domestic energy \u2014 blaming rising gas prices on both Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as oil and gas companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sick of this stuff. \u2026 The American people think the reason for inflation is the government spending more money,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/11\/joe-biden-rages-im-sick-of-americans-blaming-me-for-inflation-not-vladimir-putin\/\">said<\/a>\u00a0last week. \u201cSimply. Not. True.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats didn\u2019t cause this problem. Vladimir Putin did,\u201d he said, later blaming oil and gas companies as well:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Oil prices are decreasing, gas prices should too.<\/p>\n<p>Last time oil was $96 a barrel, gas was $3.62 a gallon.
