Does the president still intend to stay out of that case?\u201d Nelson asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes,\u201d Psaki replied. \u201cIt\u2019s the Department of Justice and I would point you to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NYPost<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stevennelson10?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@StevenNelson10<\/a>: &#8220;The New York Times reported this week that the First Son [Hunter Biden] remains under criminal investigation. First, I have a question about Russia and then one about China,\u201d Nelson continued to press. \u201cOn Russia: You told me last year that you were unfamiliar with the Senate report that alleged that the First Son \u2014 or a company linked to the First Son received $3.5 million from the richest woman in Russia.\u00a0Subsequent reporting indicates that President Biden, when he was Vice President, had a dinner in Georgetown with the same woman in 2015.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nelson went on to note that, despite <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/biden-expected-to-announce-sanctions-on-russias-nordstream-2-gas-pipeline\/\">crippling sanctions<\/a> against Russia\u2019s financial sector and some other oligarchs, the woman allegedly connected to Hunter Biden had not yet faced such restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis \u2014 Yelena Baturina, she has not been sanctioned yet by the U.S. government. How is President Biden navigating conflicts of interest when it comes to sanctioning people who have done business with his family? And can you explain to us what this $3.5 million was for?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki pushed back, saying that she had no details to add because she could not confirm that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsgac.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/Ukraine%20Report_FINAL.pdf\">report<\/a> was accurate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NYPost<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stevennelson10?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@StevenNelson10<\/a> to Psaki: &#8220;A company linked to [Hunter] received $3.5 million from the richest woman in Russia\u2026Biden\u2026had a dinner\u2026w\/the same woman in 2015\u2026How is [he] navigating conflicts of interest[?]&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Psaki says she has no confirmation if that&#8217;s true or not <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/F4gioUcUOK\">pic.twitter.com\/F4gioUcUOK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1504919395579146245?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 18, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYou didn\u2019t say anything about the conflicts of interest, how he\u2019s navigating those when deciding sanctions,\u201d Nelson pressed again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat would be his conflicts of interest?\u201d Psaki asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, his son\u2019s company allegedly got $3.5 million \u2014\u201d Nelson said, but Psaki interrupted, saying again that she could not confirm the report and was not sure that would constitute a conflict of interest anyway.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Psaki to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NYPost<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stevennelson10?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@StevenNelson10<\/a>: &#8220;Which I have no confirmation of and he has continued to sanction oligarchs, more than we have ever sanctioned in the past. I&#8217;m not sure&#8221; Hunter Biden&#8217;s Russian business dealings are &#8220;a conflict of interest.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/06gQsU5OSl\">pic.twitter.com\/06gQsU5OSl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1504920613009428486?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 18, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Nelson then pivoted to China, asking about Hunter Biden\u2019s claim that he had <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-federal-criminal-investigation-into-hunter-biden-focuses-on-his-china-business-dealings-report-says\/\">divested<\/a> from a Chinese company and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/video\/hunter-biden-still-holds-10-184000359.html\">subsequent reports<\/a> that he had not, in fact, followed through on that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have received not even basic transparency about who bought out his stake, when this happened, and how much money changed hands. Did he actually divest? And if so, can you agree to basic transparency?\u201d Nelson asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a private citizen. He doesn\u2019t work for the government.
