Despite the fact that Brevard had \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wset.com\/news\/local\/ag-miyares-slams-descano-for-reduced-charges-of-man-accused-of-killing-homeless-men\">88 prior criminal charges dating back to 2009<\/a>,\u201d leftist Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano, a former Obama-era federal prosecutor, reduced the abduction charge to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/dc-md-va\/2022\/03\/15\/arrest-homeless-murders\/\">misdemeanor<\/a>. This allowed the criminal to return to the streets after serving possibly as few as five months of an 11-month prison sentence.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Because Descano was preoccupied with reducing sentences for violent criminals under his <a href=\"https:\/\/stevedescano.com\/\">\u201cprogressive justice\u201d initiative<\/a>, Brevard walked free and used his freedom to allegedly attack multiple vulnerable people that social justice preeners such as Descano claim to prioritize. <\/p>\n<p>Brevard was released because a Democrat attorney saw him as his next social justice cause. The criminal\u2019s freedom, however, appears to have cost the lives of several innocent people.  <\/p>\n<p>A similar incident happened in Dallas last week when <a href=\"https:\/\/judgechikaanyiam.com\/#:~:text=criminal%20justice%20innovation-,criminal%20justice%20innovation,out%20of%20our%20jail%20population.\">leftist<\/a> Judge Chika Anyiam lowered violent criminal Julio Guerrero\u2019s bond from $2 million to $500,000, which only requires a $50,000 down payment for release from jail. <\/p>\n<p>Guerrero was arrested last year after allegedly shooting at police officers during an hours-long standoff. He was accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/news\/trackdown-help-find-francisco-villanuevas-killer\">killing<\/a> a father of five children after they rubbed elbows at a club, and of shooting a 3-year-old girl in the head in a fit of road rage days later. <\/p>\n<p>Guerro\u2019s attorney Tom Cox, who has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/crime\/dallas-murder-suspect-to-be-released-after-attorney-posts-his-bond-officials-say\/287-0fb61194-e2ab-41c6-9cce-2f951b5e3dee\">donated<\/a> at least\u00a0$5,000 to Anyiam since 2015, quickly posted the bail. After backlash from law enforcement and other members of her Texas community, Anyiam, who <a href=\"https:\/\/judgechikaanyiam.com\/#:~:text=criminal%20justice%20innovation-,criminal%20justice%20innovation,out%20of%20our%20jail%20population.\">brags on her website about going soft on crime<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/bond-amount-increased-for-murder-suspect-after-judge-initially-lowered-it\/2915787\/\">raised the bond<\/a> for the murder chargem but only to $600,000. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese irresponsible decisions, do not make our cities safer,\u201d Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia tweeted.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>Unfortunately for innocent, law-abiding, and vulnerable Americans who count on the justice system to keep them safe, anecdotes like these are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/12\/09\/suspect-charged-with-gunning-down-chicago-man-in-broad-daylight-had-long-arrest-record\/\">increasing<\/a> and will only get worse. Pro-criminal attorneys and judges repeatedly lower penalties for offenders in the name of achieving \u201cequity.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Why do leftist lawyers and judges repeatedly release criminals who end up harming people? Because they profit from it.<\/p>\n<p>In exchange for their reckless policies, many of these radical legal officials are <a href=\"https:\/\/bluetent.us\/articles\/campaigns-elections\/who\/\">showered with donations by leftist megadonors<\/a> such as George Soros, who has poured millions through \u201cpro-criminal justice\u201d PACs into district attorney races across the country. Letting criminals onto the streets is now a lucrative business for leftist politicians, which makes them less likely to change their ways and risk losing funding. <\/p>\n<p>These \u201ccriminal bail reform\u201d activists plaguing the American justice system may claim it is humane and just to lower the bar for criminals, but true justice does not include the harm and slaughter of innocent men, women, and children. <\/p>\n<p>Remember when Darrell Brooks Jr. allegedly used his SUV to plow over a crowd in Waukesha, Wis., killing six people and injuring 62 others just days after being let out on bail? That decision wasn\u2019t humane, just, or equitable. Even the Democrat district attorney in Wisconsin admitted that his progressive policies were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/11\/24\/da-who-let-waukesha-suspect-out-on-bail-guaranteed-his-policies-would-kill-someone-someday\/\">\u201cguaranteed\u201d<\/a> to kill someone someday. <\/p>\n<p>Giving violent criminals a free pass only punishes innocent Americans. It\u2019s neither humane nor just to sacrifice law-abiding lives on the premise that releasing creeps from jail is more humane than keeping them locked\u00a0up.
