His move comes after data by the Washington State Department of Health provides more evidence that the vaccine does not stop infection.<\/p>\n<p>Ferguson\u2019s office released an all-staff memo on March 14. The memo reminds office staff that Ferguson\u2019s booster mandate would be triggered if the DOH recommends vaccine boosters, which they do.<\/p>\n<p>Information obtained by the Jason Rantz Show indicates that the requirement for a COVID booster also applies to contractors through the attorney general\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>The attorney general\u2019s COVID-19 booster requirement declaration stipulates \u201cevery employee and subcontractor of contractor, before engaging in onsite work at any AGO location, is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 \u2026 and is in compliance with any legal requirement or AGO policy requiring booster dose(s) of a COVID-19 vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eligible employees must show proof of a booster shot by March 31. If an employee is not yet eligible, they must turn over private medical data to the AG\u2019s office so \u201cwe can calculate the date by which they must receive the booster.\u201d Presumably, if the DOH recommends a second booster, staff would be subject to it as well.<\/p>\n<p>Will Ferguson\u2019s office approve religious accommodations? It seems unlikely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[W]e granted temporary religious accommodations while our office has been primarily teleworking. Due to the nature of the job duties involved, to date we have not granted any religious accommodations extending to our return to the office on April 4,\u201d the spokesperson told the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear why the staff, who have worked remotely for months, could not continue to do that same work remotely after April 4.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s office, which has separate staff mandates from the AG, does not plan to require boosters.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mynorthwest.com\/3371596\/rantz-politico-reporter-attempts-failed-covid-smear-at-my-cpac-panel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rantz: Politico reporter attempts failed COVID smear at my CPAC panel<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Bob Ferguson\u2019s policy is not based on science or data<\/h3>\n<p>The original reason for the vaccine mandates was that it would stop the spread of COVID. But the vaccine does not stop the spread.<\/p>\n<p>Washington DOH data shows that the majority of omicron COVID infections were breakthrough cases \u2014 individuals who were fully vaccinated \u2014 thanks to the more virulent, but less deadly, variant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs omicron began to surge across Washington state in late December, breakthrough infections accounted for more than half of all coronavirus infections reported here, according to data from the state health department,\u201d the Seattle Times noted.<\/p>\n<p>The data strongly suggests vaccination will prevent serious illness and hospitalization. It\u2019s a good enough reason to be vaccinated. But public health officials and politicians are reluctant to be honest.<\/p>\n<p>They won\u2019t flatly say vaccines do not prevent the spread of COVID. But that\u2019s how the vaccine was originally pitched by doctors and politicians. And if you dare stray from their pre-approved talking points, you\u2019re deemed anti-vaccine. The vaccine zealots don\u2019t seem to realize that either withholding information or promoting the vaccine in announcements <em>when you come down with COVID<\/em>\u00a0sends mixed messages on its efficacy.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">You\u2019re legally obligated to state you\u2019ve been vaccinated \u2014 and are grateful for it \u2014 when you announce you\u2019re COVID-positive.<\/p>\n<p>Yet people *still* pretend the vaccine protects you from infection. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DVIj3FAaHj\">https:\/\/t.co\/DVIj3FAaHj<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jason Rantz on KTTH Radio (@jasonrantz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jasonrantz\/status\/1503095647125184514?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 13, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Ferguson aims to control your medical decisions<\/h3>\n<p>If the vaccine does not stop the spread of COVID, Ferguson\u2019s reason for mandating the booster (and continuing to mandate the vaccine itself) as a condition of employment is to control your medical decisions.<\/p>\n<p>While it almost certainly is the right medical decision for the majority of people (after consultation with their doctors), it\u2019s a dramatic example of government overreach. It highlights the difference between Democrats, who want more control over your lives, and Republicans, who prefer you make up your mind yourself.<\/p>\n<p>The eagerness to control your medical decisions seems ironic coming from the same politicians who decry Republicans as trying to control the \u201chealth care decisions\u201d when it comes to abortion. Indeed, Ferguson has sued to allow women to make up their own minds on abortion.<\/p>\n<p>But when it comes to COVID vaccines, he\u2019s forcing his views on his staff, holding their livelihoods hostage if they do not comply.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mynorthwest.com\/3349613\/rantz-providence-covid-policy-kept-wife-from-husband-after-surgery-then-he-died\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rantz: Providence COVID policy kept wife from husband after surgery \u2014 then, he died<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Government overreach<\/h3>\n<p>Where does this stop?<\/p>\n<p>Ferguson may feel his position is noble. It\u2019s to prevent his staff from getting seriously ill\u2013 a laudable goal, indeed. But why wouldn\u2019t that extend to other decisions? Heart disease and cancer kill more Americans than COVID.<\/p>\n<p>Drink sugary beverages? Smoke cigarettes? Are you 40 pounds overweight? Drop the Coke (ironically, in Washington, Democrats aren\u2019t referring to the drug that they decriminalized), quit smoking, and lose the weight, or you can\u2019t work here!<\/p>\n<p>This is an equally laudable goal since it helps save lives and keep people healthy, especially since obesity and cancer make one more susceptible to the serious effects of COVID. Would you be comfortable with that move?
