In so doing, he blasted former colleagues Don Lemon and Jeffrey Toobin for their unethical behavior, and noted that the network continues to employ these men.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;CNN anchor Don Lemon,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Cuomo-CNN-Arbitration-Demand-1.pdf\">the suit uncovered by <em>Deadline<\/em> states<\/a>, &#8220;was widely criticized for a flagrant breach of journalistic ethics when actor Jussie Smollett testified at trial that Lemon had texted him to warn him that Chicago police did not believe Smollett\u2019s allegations of suffering a racist, homophobic attack. Lemon had covered Smollett\u2019s accusations and his subsequent investigation and prosecution, so intervening in the ongoing investigation by texting Smollett was an inexcusable breach of ethics. Yet CNN did nothing; Lemon was not disciplined in any way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\"><\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;Similarly,&#8221; the suit continues, &#8220;in October 2020, CNN\u2019s chief political analyst, Jeffrey Toobin, was suspended and fired by <em>The New Yorker<\/em>, where he also served as a staff writer, after he masturbated while on a video call with colleagues. Despite this sordid act of sexual harassment, CNN took no disciplinary action against Toobin; instead, CNN permitted Toobin to take a seven-month \u201chiatus\u201d to \u201cdeal with a personal issue.\u201d CNN later allowed Toobin to return to work without even issuing a public apology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/chris-cuomo-sue-cnn-breach-of-the-contract\">Cuomo had announced previously on Dec 6 2021, <\/a>shortly after his firing, that he was contemplating such action against the network. <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2022\/03\/chris-cuomo-arbitration-demand-cnn-jeff-zucker-1234979631\/\">According to <em>Deadline<\/em><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/justthenews.com\/accountability\/media\/chris-cuomo-files-125-million-arbitration-against-cnn-wake-zucker-resignation\">,<\/a> the legal complaint mentioned that Cuomo was suing for the remainder of the salary owed to him under his employment contract, which he considers to have been breached by his termination.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>&#8220;As a result of Turner\u2019s indefensible choice to unceremoniously fire him,&#8221; the suit reads, &#8220;Cuomo has been damaged in countless ways. Cuomo has had his journalistic integrity unjustifiably smeared, making it difficult if not impossible for Cuomo to find similar work in the future and damaging him in amounts exceeding $125 million, which includes not only the remaining salary owed under the Agreement, but future wages lost as a result of CNN\u2019s efforts to destroy his reputation in violation of the Agreement. Cuomo now seeks to recover the full measure of his damages against Turner and CNN.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>CNN&#8217;s CEO at the time, Jeff Zucker, alleged that Cuomo&#8217;s firing was due to his lying to the network and unethically using his position to aid his older brother Andrew, who was then the governor of New York State. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>As to the &#8220;smear campaign,&#8221; the suit states that &#8220;CNN staff joined in the calculated campaign to smear Cuomo and destroy his reputation. Jake Tapper, a CNN anchor, publicly assailed Cuomo\u2019s ethics as a journalist and falsely claimed that Cuomo &#8216;threatened&#8217; Zucker. Don Lemon, another CNN anchor, falsely claimed that Cuomo had been &#8216;found to break with those journalistic standards and then [was] paid handsomely for it.&#8217; Brian Stelter, CNN\u2019s chief media correspondent, said Cuomo was &#8216;acting like an unpaid staffer&#8217; for Gov. Cuomo and had been &#8216;trying to burn the place down&#8217; after CNN terminated him. Countless anonymous CNN staffers slammed Cuomo in the press, calling him &#8216;both journalistically and morally immoral,&#8217; saying &#8216;his biggest crime was he lied to Zucker,&#8217; and labeling him \u201ctoxic and distracting.&#8217; CNN itself released a statement that Cuomo &#8216;made a number of accusations that are patently false&#8217; and that he was terminated for a &#8216;lack of candor.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>Both Cuomo brothers <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/revealed-cnn-chris-cuomo-fired-sexual-misconduct-accusation\">have separately been accused of workplace-related sexual misconduct at one time or another<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section data-v-5e19d842=\"\">\n<p>The CNN network itself has been going through troubled times lately.
