(Alexander Ermochenko\/Reuters)<\/figure>\n<p>The two sides apparently are making headway based on the revealed conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky already conceded that Ukraine will likely abandon the pursuit of NATO membership, a critical Russian concern that was used to justify the invasion.<\/p>\n<p>He said on Tuesday that his country has to accept that it will not become a member of the NATO military alliance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUkraine is not a member of NATO. We understand that. We have heard for years that the doors were open, but we also heard that we could not join.
