Geoffrey Lund <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhregister.com\/news\/article\/Video-Bristol-officers-good-Samaritan-rescue-17001858.php\">told<\/a> the <em>New Haven Register<\/em> officers arrived at the scene of a car wreck and found a trapped driver.\u00a0To make matters worse, heavy smoke was coming out of the vehicle.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>In bodycam footage of the incident, a man <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vZMsVhPj1q8\">wearing<\/a> jeans and a dark-colored shirt was seen in the driver\u2019s seat. He appeared to hang onto the steering wheel as an officer took hold of his arm in an attempt to bring him out safely.<\/p>\n<p>Moments later, the officer appeared to remove him from the vehicle as another person, wearing a reflective yellow and orange vest, helped carry the man away from the car.<\/p>\n<p>The man appeared unable to stand on his own, so the pair dragged him a good distance away.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n[embedded content]\n<p>In the background, dark smoke was seen coming out of the white van as the officer and citizen gently laid the man on the ground so as not to hurt the back of his head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHang in there, buddy,\u201d one of them said as the other person added, \u201cWatch your head, bud.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"adModule adModule--outer\">\n<div class=\"adModule--inner loaded\">\n<p>\u201cSeveral officers and a good Samaritan were able to remove the adult male from the driver\u2019s seat and carefully drag him to safety. Officers then treated him with medical care until EMS arrival,\u201d according to Lund.<\/p>\n<p>The Bristol, Connecticut, Police Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BristolCTPD\/posts\/339327801568655\">shared<\/a> the video footage online and social media users were quick to applaud the officers and citizen for working together to help the man in need.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmazing job to the Good Samaritan and of course also BPD. Prayers for the person injured.
