Johnson is reportedly set to deliver a message on behalf of the West, urging the two oil-rich nations to boost production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Prime Minister set out his deep concerns about the chaos unleashed by Russia\u2019s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, and stressed the importance of working together to improve stability in the global energy market,\u201d the British government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/pm-meeting-with-the-crown-prince-of-the-united-arab-emirates-16-march-2022\">said in a readout<\/a> of Johnson\u2019s meeting with the UAE leader earlier Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe leaders welcomed the longstanding partnership between our two countries and discussed opportunities to increase collaboration between the UK and UAE on energy security, green technology, and trade,\u201d the statement continued. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/15\/russia-yamal-europe-pipeline-natural-gas-germany-joe-biden\/\">(RELATED: Russia Reverses Gas Flow Via Key Pipeline Serving Europe)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine has caused uncertainty in global energy markets,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/24\/crude-oil-prices-100-per-barrel-russia-ukraine\/\">leading<\/a> to higher oil and gasoline prices around the world. White House press secretary Jen Psaki called the report \u201cinaccurate\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/press-briefings\/2022\/03\/10\/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-jen-psaki-march-9-2022\/\">during<\/a> a March 10 press briefing and said the president spoke with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud \u201cseveral weeks ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden spoke with the Saudi Arabian king on Feb. 25, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/02\/25\/readout-of-president-joseph-r-biden-jr-call-with-king-salman-bin-abdulaziz-al-saud-of-saudi-arabia\/\">according<\/a> to a White House readout. However, the two leaders didn\u2019t discuss energy security or the Russian invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/joe-biden-opec-russia-crude-oil-venezuela\/\">repeatedly called upon<\/a> the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) \u2014 a powerful Middle Eastern oil cartel of which Saudi Arabia and the UAE are core members \u2014 to produce more oil over the last several months amid a global supply crunch. OPEC, though, has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/05\/oil-prices-opec-russia-joe-biden\/\">rebuffed the requests<\/a>, instead sticking to its previous pandemic plans.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S., which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/tools\/faqs\/faq.php?id=33&#038;t=6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consumes<\/a> about 20 million barrels of oil per day, imported nearly 1.6 million barrels of oil per day from OPEC+ nations in 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eia.gov\/dnav\/pet\/pet_move_neti_a_EP00_IMN_mbblpd_m.htm\">according<\/a> to the Energy Information Administration.
