The event \u201cThe Policy On Our Bodies\u201d features representatives from the ACLU of Ohio, Planned Parenthood, Fight for Her, If\/When\/How, and NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio. The event description claims the event will talk about the \u201cever-changing landscape of reproductive rights legislation here in Ohio.\u201d In 2019, Gov. Mike DeWine (R-OH) passed a \u201cheartbeat bill\u201d into law, which outlaws abortion after heartbeat activity can be detected.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The organization that puts on Sex Week is called the Student Advocates for Sexual Health Awareness (SASHA). SASHA is sponsored by the university\u2019s student government, the college of social work and public health, the department of women\u2019s, gender, and sexuality studies, as well as Planned Parenthood.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On SASHA\u2019s frequently asked questions page, the group disparaged Pregnancy Crisis Centers by calling them \u201cunethical, misleading, inaccurate, and a threat to public health.\u201d It also said that its events are not limited to just sex. Events will encompass \u201canything with a social stigma attached to it\u201d because stigma can \u201cindirectly influence health.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cNot talking about problems lets them grow into something worse that can seriously hurt your health,\u201d the website<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sexweekatosu.org\/faqs\"><span>reads<\/span><\/a><span>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campusreform.org\/article?id=16827\"><span>Campus Reform<\/span><\/a><span>, the group\u2019s secretary said that it aims to cover topics missing from the current education system in Ohio.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cEvery year, we try to include a breadth of topics. We cover sex ed foundations, LGBTQ+ inclusivity\/health masculinity, reproductive rights, and pleasure,\u201d Secretary Katie Chung told Campus Reform. \u201c[We] find that these topics combined provide realistic education for college students.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In light of the coronavirus pandemic, other colleges have increased efforts to talk about sex as well. At the University of Georgia, the university\u2019s health center posted, and then removed, a sex advice page for students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYou are your safest sex partner,\u201d the site read according to<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/university-georgia-coronavirus-sex-advice-removed\"><span>Fox News<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cPractice solo sex or limit the number of sexual partners you have \u2026 The virus has been found in semen and feces of people with COVID-19. We do not know if COVID-19 can be spread through vaginal or anal sex.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Yale\u2019s health department also circulated a document that advised students to limit sex by masturbating and encouraged students to \u201cliven up\u201d their sex lives by wearing masks.
