Chuck Schumer (D-NY), on Monday, far-left Evergreen\u00a0Action slammed the Senate leader for not doing enough to wrangle Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) into voting for the massive tax-and-spend bill.\u00a0Evergreen\u00a0Action, a global warming\u00a0advocacy group,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.evergreenaction.com\/mission\">claims<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0be\u00a0\u201cleading the fight to put bold climate action at the top of America\u2019s agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIn his own words, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer promised the Senate will \u2018forcefully,\u00a0insistently, and urgently\u2019 address climate as the greatest threat to our country. The Democrat-led Congress and Biden have since dropped the massive agenda item. Eighty-nine\u00a0Democrats, including six committee chairmen,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/casten.house.gov\/sites\/casten.house.gov\/files\/BidenClimateReconciliaitonLetter3.14.pdf\">wrote<\/a>\u00a0Biden a letter Monday demanding the \u201cclimate action\u201d within Build Back Better be revived.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe more than $555 billion in climate investments in the House-passed Build Back Better Act can serve as the building block to restart negotiations,\u201d the letter reads.<\/p>\n<p>The letter notes a division in the Democrat party. What was once thought of as a midterm election strategy, Biden\u2019s Build Back Better agenda is no longer relevant\u00a0to winning elections,\u00a0midterm chief Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/11\/democrat-midterm-chief-build-back-better-agenda-no-longer-needed-to-win-midterms\/\">admitted<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<p>Maloney\u00a0had\u00a0championed the agenda to defeat Republicans in November.\u00a0\u201cThe scale and impact of the plan we are putting in place needs to show up in the family budgets and daily lives of the people we hope to win,\u201d\u00a0Maloney said about the legislation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Maloney\u2019s change of heart seems related to Manchin\u2019s continued opposition to the legislation. On Thursday, data <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/03\/10\/poll-joe-biden-fails-to-focus-on-top-national-issues-jobs-and-the-economy\/\">released<\/a> by the\u00a0Department of Labor indicated the consumer price index (CPI) rose 7.9 percent compared with a year ago. Prices grew 0.8 percent compared with the prior month.<\/p>\n<p>February marked the ninth straight month of inflation above five percent.<\/p>\n<p>As inflation continues to increase, so have energy prices. Gas prices last week\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/03\/11\/gas-prices-soar-record-high-fifth-consecutive-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">soared<\/a>\u00a0to a record high five days in a row, fueling demands that America should not rely on foreign energy. Instead of unleashing American energy companies to produce more energy, Democrats have been quick to use high inflation and gas prices to push their Green New Deal-like policies.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/07\/pete-buttigieg-promotes-electric-cars-public-transportation-as-solution-to-high-gas-prices\/\">promoted<\/a> electric cars as a solution to dependence on foreign energy and high gas prices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClean transportation can bring significant cost savings for the American people as well,\u201d Buttigieg claimed.\u00a0\u201cSo the people from rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear how American workers are to afford expensive battery-powered cars while struggling with inflation.
