Deshaun Watson did not commit any crimes and is not guilty of any offenses,\u201d Hardin <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapSheet\/status\/1502405090908549120\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> in a statement. \u201cNow that the criminal investigations have been completed, we are happy to move forward with the civil case depositions. We will vigorously defend those cases with every ounce we have.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThere were no crimes here but there is a plaintiffs\u2019 attorney churning up negative press and churning up his clients hoping for a pay day,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cThese cases have been the product of a lawyer maximizing his own personal publicity at the expense of others, including his own clients. It\u2019s time to let Deshaun move on.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In March 2021, the first of 22 women filed civil cases against Watson, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/detailing-the-22-sexual-misconduct-allegations-against-nfl-quarterback-deshaun-watson\"><span>claiming<\/span><\/a><span> that Watson harassed and sexually assaulted them during massage appointments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIt\u2019s definitely a very emotional moment for me. I know we\u2019re far from being done of handling what we need to handle on the legal side, but today is definitely a big day, and I thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for letting the truth be heard,\u201d Watson said outside the courthouse on Friday. \u201cAnd I thank everyone that was a part of this for seeing and hearing both sides.
