She was the 70-year-old nurse killed by one of Los Angeles\u2019 many \u201cunhoused\u201d individuals (drug-addicted psychopaths) while she waited for a bus at 5:15 in the morning in January, on her way to her job at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>A homeless guy, Kerry Bell, walked up to Shells and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground and fracturing her skull. She died of her injuries three days later.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Her life mattered more even than, say, George Floyd\u2019s \u2014 and I can prove it.<\/p>\n<p>1) Shells was a hardworking nurse, remembered as \u201ckind, compassionate and giving\u201d and a favorite of patients.<\/p>\n<p>2) There is no evidence that she\u2019d ever committed a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/graphics\/2020\/national\/george-floyd-america\/policing\/\">home invasion robbery<\/a>\u00a0on a woman in Texas, pistol-whipped the woman and put a gun to her abdomen.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>3) She was not a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/04\/01\/us\/courteney-ross.html\">meth addict.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>4) She did not have a long\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/06\/02\/george-floyd-had-violent-criminal-history-minneapolis-union-chief\/\">rap sheet<\/a>, including selling cocaine, selling crack and theft.<\/p>\n<p>5) She was merely standing at a bus stop \u2014 not, for example, resisting arrest after passing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-9423147\/Derek-Chauvin-trial-Firefighter-witnessed-George-Floyds-death-resumes-testimony.html\">counterfeit bill<\/a>\u00a0and having the police called on her.<\/p>\n<p>But no one even knows her name, much less runs around erecting sacramental altars to her. To the contrary, news about this vicious assault on a kindly nurse was purged from all media outlets approximately 10 minutes after it happened. The police haven\u2019t even released her assailant\u2019s mug shot. Only after extensive searching online can you find the arrest report for Bell. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/news\/sandra-shells-kerry-bell\/\">Race: B<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t matter to me, but it does to some of you, so I\u2019ll mention that the victim\u2019s race was also \u201cB.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>If you can\u2019t remember Shells\u2019 name, then please remember this name: George Gascon, the district attorney entirely responsible for the explosion of murders, stabbings, and smash-and-grab robberies in Los Angeles. Coincidentally, there\u2019s also an effort to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/recallchesaboudin.org\/\">recall San Francisco\u2019s Chesa Boudin<\/a>, another George Soros-sponsored D.A. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/californiaglobe.com\/articles\/soros-dumps-another-2-5-million-into-gascons-race-for-los-angeles-da\/\">George Soros-sponsored D.A.<\/a>\u201d is shorthand for \u201cThis man will empty the prisons of berserk savages to prey on you and your loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Which happens to be the official\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/06\/12\/opinion\/sunday\/floyd-abolish-defund-police.html\">policy<\/a>\u00a0of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/national-security\/597337-top-justice-official-pressed-on-past-views-after-bidens-call-to-fund\">Democratic Party<\/a>. Pay no attention to the windbaggery of President Biden\u2019s recent\u00a0<em>Oh My God, Midterms Are Coming<\/em>\u00a0speech \u2014 I mean, State of the Union address \u2014 where he said, \u201cThe answer is not to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2022\/03\/02\/biden-fund-police-sotu-reaction\/9339814002\/\">defund the police.<\/a>\u00a0The answer is to fund the police!\u201d Has he met his vice president? (AP Photo\/Eric Risberg)<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Gascon\u2019s response to the bloodbath he\u2019s unleashed on the City of Angels is to announce: \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10295433\/When-wrestle-pig-muddy-pig-likes-Tone-deaf-LA-attorney.html\">In many ways,<\/a>\u00a0we cannot prosecute our way out of social inequalities, income inequalities, the unhoused, the desperation that we have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What does the \u201cin many ways\u201d do in that sentence? I know English isn\u2019t Gascon\u2019s first language, but I can\u2019t make heads or tails of the \u201cin many ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nor, come to think of it, the rest of the sentence. Is it a prosecutor\u2019s job to reduce \u201csocial\u201d and \u201cincome\u201d inequalities? How about inequalities in work ethic, mathematical skills, good looks, athletic ability, comedic talent, and empathetic understanding?<\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s nice that the Los Angeles D.A. has made the amazing discovery that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Human-Diversity-Biology-Gender-Class\/dp\/1538744015\/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3295XR21VYCRA&#038;keywords=human+diversity+charles+murray&#038;qid=1646848441&#038;s=books&#038;sprefix=HUMAN+DIVERSITY%2Cstripbooks%2C114&#038;sr=1-1\">people are different<\/a>, if he thinks it\u2019s his duty to make all people the same, he may have a misunderstood the job description of a D.A.<\/p>\n<p>As for Gascon\u2019s apparent goal of eliminating \u201cthe desperation that we have,\u201d the main cause of \u201cdesperation\u201d among Los Angelinos right now is George Gascon. If he really wants to do something about \u201cthe desperation,\u201d he should resign.<\/p>\n<p>Gascon is either very, very stupid or thinks the public is stupid, and his incomprehensible verbiage will persuade them that the last thing he should be doing is prosecuting criminals.<\/p>\n<p>How\u2019s this for desperation? The fabulously wealthy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10284383\/Jacqueline-Avant-awake-startled-home-intruder-shot-dead-family-say.html\">Clarence and Jacqueline Avant<\/a>, a legendary music producer and his ex-model wife, felt they had to hire a private security guard for their $7 million Beverly Hills home. Rodriguez\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Days before the neighborhood patrol began, Aariel Maynor, a felon on parole despite a long list of priors (assault, robbery and grand theft) snuck past the Avants\u2019 private guard at the front door, smashed a sliding glass door in the back, and burst in on the very much awake Mrs. Avant, a night owl, as her husband slept in their bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>Maynor promptly blew her away with an AR-15 rifle. Hearing the gunfire, the private guard rushed in and Maynor shot at him, too, missing. He fled, but was captured about an hour later, after accidentally shooting himself in the foot while burglarizing a house seven miles away.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Avant\u2019s life mattered \u2014 even more than some other celebrated lives you may have heard of.<\/p>\n<p>My proof:<\/p>\n<p>1) She was the \u201cpillar of that family,\u201d as a friend put it.<\/p>\n<p>2) She was a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2021-12-01\/wife-of-music-executive-clarence-avant-fatally-shot-at-trousdale-estates-home\">generous donor<\/a>\u00a0to local causes, such as the Neighbors of Watts and the South Central Community Child Care Center.<\/p>\n<p>3) She was not a meth addict or violent ex-con who\u2019d put a gun to a woman\u2019s stomach, or passed a counterfeit bill in Minneapolis, then resisted arrest.<\/p>\n<p>4) For my liberal readers: Mrs. Avant was an African-American.<\/p>\n<p>But far from a national rending of garments, as we saw in tribute to Saint George, the response to Mrs. Avant\u2019s murder was this: The D.A. promptly sent out a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/la-district-attorney-george-gascon-fundraises-to-lower-sentence-of-jacqueline-avants-killer\">fundraising letter<\/a>, making a heartfelt plea on behalf of armed criminals like the sociopath who killed her.<\/p>\n<p>Gascon\u2019s letter urged the passage of a law that would\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/restoring-america\/fairness-justice\/la-district-attorney-george-gascon-fundraises-to-lower-sentence-of-jacqueline\">end sentence enhancements<\/a>\u00a0for crimes committed with a firearm. Such \u201csentence enhancements,\u201d Gascon claimed, \u201chave never been shown to reduce the rate of crime, and excessive sentence enhancements can actually drive up re-offense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Really? Can I see the study? Pro-crime zealots just make this crap up.\u00a0<em>Studies show that imprisoning criminals actually INCREASES crime.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s bad enough to have dangerous psychos out on the street, threatening our lives because there\u2019s something wrong with their brains.
