The treatment, which <a href=\"https:\/\/publichealth.jhu.edu\/2022\/an-update-on-convalescent-plasma-for-covid-19\">remains controversial<\/a>, would be \u201cvirtually unobtainable by anyone unrelated to then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/03\/10\/chris-cuomo-offered-rare-covid-plasma-in-2020-emails-reveal\/\">wrote<\/a> Conor Skelding of the New York Post, which obtained 147 pages of emails tied to Chris Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s shocking if the Blood Center was offering convalescent therapy to the most powerful New Yorkers,\u201d said New York City Council member Ben Dallos, a Democrat. \u201cI certainly hope the Blood Center isn\u2019t offering better treatment to the most powerful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just over a year after Hillyer made his offer to the governor\u2019s brother, the New York City Council voted to allow his Blood Center to build a 230-foot-tall tower strongly opposed by local residents. The vote marked \u201cthe first time in at least a decade that city lawmakers backed a project over the wishes of the local lawmaker, Councilman Ben Kallos (D-Manhttan),\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/11\/23\/ny-city-council-backs-new-blood-center-tower-amid-fierce-pushback\/\">reported<\/a> the Post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wonder who else got this special therapy,\u201d said Kallos.<\/p>\n<p>Cuomo has previously been accused of accepting preferential treatment. Last year, federal agents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/feds-now-investigating-whether-andrew-cuomo-let-family-jump-the-line-for-covid-testing\">opened an investigation<\/a> into whether then-Gov. Cuomo gave his brother access to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/reports-chris-cuomo-special-covid-19-testing-c7114a57c939730ff5f87c74de4e2e96\">rapid COVID-19 tests<\/a> that were unavailable to the general public.<\/p>\n<p>The plasma offer came as Chris Cuomo told CNN viewers that he had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/a-proven-lie-cnn-chris-cuomo-blasted-for-suspicious-claim-about-cuomo-in-quarantine\">quarantined<\/a>\u00a0himself in his basement following his March 2020 diagnosis; he later posted a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CuomoPrimeTime\/status\/1252411300598038529\">video<\/a>\u00a0of himself dramatically emerging from his lair. But Cuomo got caught outside his home by a local man taking a bike ride on Easter Sunday; Cuomo later <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/04\/14\/long-island-bicyclist-verbally-attacked-by-chris-cuomo-fires-back\/\">berated<\/a> the man as a \u201cjacka** loser fat-tire biker\u201d on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/chris-cuomo-out-at-siriusxm-radio-show\">now-defunct SiriusXM Radio show<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the alleged offer, Cuomo hosted CNN\u2019s most widely watched program, \u201cCuomo Prime Time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCNN declined to comment on the emails,\u201d wrote Skelding. \u201cHillyer, who made $1.8 million in 2019, didn\u2019t return a request for comment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hillyer\u2019s online biography <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nybc.org\/about-us\/nybc-overview\/christopher-d-hillyer-md\/\">describes<\/a> him as the \u201cauthor of over 175\u00a0articles pertaining to transfusion, human immunodeficiency virus, and herpes viruses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
