There\u2019s also no question that when a foreign dictator invades a foreign country, and when that foreign dictator is the head of a country that is the third largest supplier of oil in the world, that that is going to have an impact, and it is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, to that point,\u201d Doocy continued, \u201cinflation goes up today. The president\u2019s statement blames the \u2018Putin price hike,\u2019 are you guys just going to start blaming [Russian President Vladimir] Putin for everything until the midterms?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki said <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/08\/cnn-reporter-okay-high-gas-prices-putin-held-accountable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gas prices<\/a> have increased by $0.75 since Putin deployed troops to Ukraine\u2019s border and waged a full-scale war.<\/p>\n<p>Doocy then asked why the administration did not pin inflation on <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/doocy-presses-psaki-blaming-russia-gas-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Putin<\/a> before the invasion, but instead cited the pandemic. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/10\/putin-gas-price-hike-psaki-pins-russia-oil-companies-gas-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Putin\u2019s Gas Price Hike\u2019: Psaki Pins Russia And U.S. Oil Companies For Rising Gas Prices)\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last two years there was a global pandemic,\u201d Psaki answered. \u201cEveryone who is a global economist have all agreed that has been the biggest contributor, to date, of inflation, because of the impact on the supply chain. Obviously global events impact the economy \u2014 the global economy \u2014 as well as global inflation. And the price hikes, as a result, that have escalated over the course of time of President Putin\u2019s further invasion \u2026 are of course having an impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Joe\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/10\/biden-blames-putins-price-hike-record-high-inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Biden<\/a>\u00a0pinned \u201cPutin\u2019s price hike\u201d for the continued inflation surge and as the price of gas rose above <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/07\/gasoline-prices-all-time-high-russia-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$4 per gallon<\/a>. The president\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/white-house-rebrands-rising-gas-prices-putin-price-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first rebranded<\/a>\u00a0the crisis at his Tuesday address to the nation when announcing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/08\/joe-biden-ban-russian-oil-invasion-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ban<\/a>\u00a0on all imports of Russian oil and gas.<\/p>\n<p>The Consumer Price Index (CPI) <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/10\/bureau-labor-statistics-inflation-consumer-price-index\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rose<\/a> 0.8% in February, leading the key inflation indicator\u2019s year-over-year increase to 7.9%.
