Carden Summers, who introduced the bill, told Axios in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/atlanta\/2022\/03\/10\/dont-say-gay-bill-georgia-senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>, \u201cYou can\u2019t use the woke philosophy while using taxpayer funding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Atlanta Constitution Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/nordot.app\/874700059029454848?c=592622757532812385\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>, \u201cSenate Bill 613 stands little chance of passing this late in the legislative session, though its provisions could be spliced onto other proposals that have already gained traction.\u201d Others have seen it as a political push, as Burt Jones, a Republican currently running for lieutenant governor in the state, has supported the bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo teacher should be promoting gender identity discussions with small children in a classroom setting \u2014 which is exactly what this bill says and why I support it,\u201d Jones said, according to the AJC.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Republican Gov. It doesn\u2019t matter what critics say,\u201d DeSantis <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/does-it-say-that-in-the-bill-ron-desantis-rebukes-reporter-for-pushing-dont-say-gay-narrative\/\">said<\/a> in the video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt bans classroom instruction on sexual identity and gender orientation,\u201d Donovan replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor who?\u201d DeSantis asked. \u201cFor grades pre-k through three.
