While speaking at a \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iolyLTi_4Qc&#038;t=12s\">Made in America\u2019 event<\/a> on Wednesday, he claimed Americans will not need fossil fuels to drive a car and suggested they use alternative methods of transportation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe don\u2019t need to propel most of what we have in the future with regard to oil products,\u201d Biden stated. \u201cAnd, you know, I was really pleased when we met the the CEOs of the automobile companies.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The President then claimed he helped convince General Motors CEO, Mary Barra to drop her lawsuit against California for setting higher emission regulations than the national standard. Biden also dismissed concerns about surging gas prices despite everyday Americans with traditional vehicles struggling to fill up their tanks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden: \u201cA gallon of gas is down 14% today.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>That is completely false. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MZq3dOjVUc\">pic.twitter.com\/MZq3dOjVUc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1501638848136323075?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Additionally, Biden falsely claimed U.S. gas prices went down by 14 percent in one day. The average U.S. gas price rose to $4.25 earlier in the day, which was up from $4.17 the day before and $3.46 a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s remarks come as analysts advise drivers to gear up for high gas prices until at least Labor Day and predicted the national average could easily jump to $4.50 a gallon in the coming weeks.
