Food index and home costs rose 1 percent and 1.4 percent, respectively, and were \u201cthe largest monthly increases since April 2020.\u201d Gas prices, however, shot up 6.6 percent last month and \u201caccounted for almost a third of the all items monthly increase.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Even though the Biden administration has tried to blame astronomical prices at the pump on Vladimir Putin, the gasoline index has been steadily increasing since Biden waged a public war on domestic oil and gas production. Just this week, gas prices surpassed the 2008 record to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2022\/03\/08\/gas-most-expensive-us-history\/9404939002\/\">the highest in U.S. history<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Already, the White House is gearing up to blame skyrocketing inflation, which was present long before the Russia-Ukraine conflict, on current events instead of the Biden administration\u2019s policy decisions. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"re0ag5JBzRnIPXwHTh78S2VPlQRMnSkqjbgi9OsypDGwr5XQNdo8GWTWudEUYCvypKkAHLEcFziLDYNZsAe34Ft4CKOvlt2\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Psaki on coming inflation number tomorrow: &#8220;We expect a high one&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Katie Pavlich (@KatiePavlich) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KatiePavlich\/status\/1501627523989397508?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 9, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Despite the fact that inflation has risen at an alarming rate since President Joe Biden assumed office, the administration has largely <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mediaite\/status\/1484584418513666049?s=20&#038;t=JPuYr75cqEukmfxpxdSbmQ\">shrugged off<\/a> Americans\u2019 concerns about the rising price of groceries, gas, and other essential items. <\/p>\n<p>Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/01\/17-absurd-lies-biden-told-during-his-state-of-the-union-speech\/\">falsely claimed <\/a>during his State of the Union Address last week that the solution to inflation is for businesses to \u201clower your costs, not your wages\u201d even though in order to stay open, companies must raise their prices to pay for increasingly expensive goods. <\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday also tried to gaslight reporters into believing inflation is not as bad as it seems because \u201cwe\u2019ve seen inflationary numbers go down month-to-month.\u201d The truth is, however, that inflation has gone up every month since the beginning of Biden\u2019s presidency.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><\/figure>\n<p>In January, when inflation rose 0.6 percent, Psaki defended the nation\u2019s record-high inflation by claiming that \u201creal working families\u201d still had financial \u201cbreathing room\u201d that allowed them to cover all essential costs. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"7qOx94DvWnX3YQpuaI8e\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jen Psaki says American families are doing just fine despite record-high inflation and supply chain crises because they have &#8220;breathing room&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>\u2026Whatever that means <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/h1G30l50Kx\">pic.twitter.com\/h1G30l50Kx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Benny (@bennyjohnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1485691813696573446?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 24, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Shortly after Biden assumed office, the White House claimed that climbing inflation was a result of the presidential transition.
