It is horrific.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HIgZKsgeal\">pic.twitter.com\/HIgZKsgeal<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breaking911 (@Breaking911) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Breaking911\/status\/1501633884252999683?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 9, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI think that you have seen the president speak passionately about his view that a bill like this, a bill that would discriminate against families, against kids, put these kids in a position of not getting the support they need at a time where that\u2019s exactly what they need,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cIt\u2019s discriminatory, it\u2019s a form of bullying, it\u2019s horrific and the president has spoken to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of his views and comments from 25 years ago, the most important question now is why are Florida leaders deciding they need to discriminate against kids who are members of the LGBTQ community? What prompts them to do that? Is it meanness? Is it wanting to make kids have a more difficult time in school and their communities? I would pose that question to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWas there a reason he supported the same policy though in the \u201990\u2019s when we were all in school?\u201d the reporter pressed. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/04\/florida-ron-desantis-reporter-confronts-dont-say-gay-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: \u2018Where Is That Coming From?\u2019: Gov. DeSantis Pushes Back After Reporter Confronts Him Over So-Called \u2018Don\u2019t Say Gay\u2019 Bill)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think what\u2019s important to note here is how outspoken the president has been against discrimination, against kids, against members of the LGBTQI+ community and what we\u2019re looking at here is a bill that would propagate misinformed hateful policies that impact children,\u201d Psaki said.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2022\/1557\/BillText\/e1\/PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bill<\/a> in question, \u201cParental Rights In Education,\u201d is a Florida parental rights bill prohibiting teachers from discussing sexuality with kindergartners. Despite claims from <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/08\/dont-say-gay-legacy-media-activist-slogan-florida-legislation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">legacy media<\/a> and those on the left who have labeled it as the \u201cDon\u2019t Say Gay\u201d bill, the bill does not prevent teachers \u2013 or anyone else- from saying the word \u201cgay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/08\/the-view-cohosts-florida-bill-shaming-children-families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bill<\/a> prohibits teachers from discussing sexuality and gender identity with children in <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/09\/beaten-up-tucker-carlson-florida-parental-rights-bill-kindergarteners-sex-gender-identity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">kindergarten<\/a> through third grade and requires schools to give parents the option to opt out of certain health services offered.
