She also noted that there were a number of officials who were concerned about what might happen if Russian occupation forces were able to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailywire.com\/news\/weapons-expert-on-russian-takeover-of-ukraine-nuclear-plant-nuclear-nightmares-are-multiplying\/\">take control<\/a> of those Ukrainian research facilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUkraine has \u2018biological research facilities,\u2019 says Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, when asked by Sen Rubio if Ukraine has biological or chemical weapons, and says she\u2019s worried Russia may get them. But she says she\u2019s 100% sure if there\u2019s a biological attack, it\u2019s Russia,\u201d independent journalist Glenn Greenwald tweeted.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ukraine has &#8220;biological research facilities,&#8221; says Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland, when asked by Sen Rubio if Ukraine has biological or chemical weapons, and says she&#8217;s worried Russia may get them. But she says she&#8217;s 100% sure if there&#8217;s a biological attack, it&#8217;s Russia. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uo3dHDMfAS\">pic.twitter.com\/uo3dHDMfAS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ggreenwald\/status\/1501313109520175104?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 8, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLet me ask you, does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?\u201d Rubio asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUkraine has biological research facilities, which, in fact, we are now quite concerned Russian forces may be seeking to gain control of,\u201d Nuland replied. \u201cSo we are working with the Ukrainians on how they can prevent any of those research materials from falling into the hands of Russian forces, should they approach.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure you\u2019re aware that the Russian propaganda groups are already putting out there all kinds of information about how they\u2019ve uncovered a plot by the Ukrainians to release biological weapons in the country with NATO\u2019s coordination,\u201d Rubio pressed further, asking, \u201cIf there is a biological or chemical weapon incident or attack inside of Ukraine, is there any doubt in your mind that 100 percent, it would be the Russians that would be behind it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no doubt in my mind, Senator,\u201d Nuland agreed. \u201cAnd it is classic Russian technique to blame on the other guy what they\u2019re planning to do themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rubio asked one final question, pivoting to address the dire financial situation in Russia amid sanctions from multiple sources.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast question: I am certain that the Russians were looking at their foreign reserves as a way to buffer sanctions.
