Marsha Blackburn introduced legislation Tuesday that would crack down on China\u2019s Central Bank\u2019s digital currency, the Digital Yuan, which could empower countries like Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller first obtained a copy of the legislation, titled the \u201cSay No to the Silk Road Act,\u201d which has eight cosponsors. The legislation requires new standards and guidelines for the digital currency and demands any foreign government that receives assistance through the Foreign Military Financing Program to disclose if the government uses Digital Yuan. The Digital Yuan <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/08\/12\/china-central-bank-ready-release-own-digital-currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">relies on blockchain technology<\/a> and gives Beijing more power over its financial system.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmakers are concerned Russia can use the Digital Yuan to bypass financial messaging systems, such as the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), which could empower China to further violate the rights of their citizens. Both Republicans and Democrats have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/28\/treasury-department-prohibits-americans-central-bank-russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called on<\/a> the Biden administration to completely ban all Russian banks from SWIFT. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/24\/china-cryptocurrency-xi-jinping-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: China Outlaws All Cryptocurrency Transactions, Mining Activities)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder Joe Biden\u2019s failed leadership, the new Axis of Evil is thriving,\u201d Blackburn told the Daily Caller. \u201cIf left unchecked, technologies including China\u2019s Digital Yuan will empower Russia to evade global sanctions on systems such as SWIFT and enable the CCP to further surveil and threaten their citizens.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/08\/12\/china-central-bank-ready-release-own-digital-currency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: China\u2019s Central Bank Reportedly Will Be Ready To Release Its Own Digital Currency Soon)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>READ THE LEGISLATION HERE:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"View EXCLUSIVE: Sen.
