He told Breitbart News that after he and his attorney\u00a0Joseph D. McBride, Esq.\u00a0prepared to be with the committee for eight hours, he was only with them for 46 minutes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Ca2NsLHO1YC\/?utm_source=ig_embed&#038;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In his prepared remarks, Bruesewitz explained that he rejected the original offer to\u00a0voluntarily come in to speak with them \u201cbecause the Committee is improperly constituted\u201d and he has \u201cno knowledge about the \u2018attack\u2019 on the Capitol.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the time of being asked to appear voluntarily,\u00a0he also\u00a0responded to them by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexbruesewitz\/status\/1482164705712128002?s=20&#038;t=X179kqcKjI7GEWCKmiBVqw\">explaining<\/a> his position on Fox News\u2019s <em>Tucker Carlson Tonight<\/em> and by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexbruesewitz\/status\/1481415727693320193?s=20&#038;t=ob228qcHgMelVe8oSrJsxg\">releasing<\/a> a statement, claiming they were targeting him in \u201cretaliation\u201d for\u00a0raising money and speaking on\u00a0behalf of candidates challenging various members on the committee.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My message to the @Janauary6thCmte communist clown members:<\/p>\n<p>You can all go to hell.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for having me on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TuckerCarlson?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@TuckerCarlson<\/a>. God bless you. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/L8cReMW4Nt\">pic.twitter.com\/L8cReMW4Nt<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alex Bruesewitz (@alexbruesewitz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alexbruesewitz\/status\/1482164705712128002?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 15, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>He also told Breitbart News that\u00a0following his appearance on TV and his statement, he received a subpoena demanding a closed-door testimony from the committee on February 17.<\/p>\n<p>Bruesewitz acknowledged in his statement that he was\u00a0subpoenaed because he \u201cwasn\u2019t interested in playing [the committee\u2019s] game.\u201d And while his position has not changed that the \u201ccommittee is illegitimate and unconstitutional,\u201d he\u00a0decided to\u00a0invoke his Fifth Amendment right\u00a0after \u201ca lot of prayer and advice from counsel.\u201d\u00a0He recognized in his remarks that the\u00a0Fifth Amendment was \u201cenvisioned this exact type of situation \u2014 one in which the citizenry could protect themselves from an excess power grab or abuse by Congress in a Congressional hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But, while the establishment media and the members on the\u00a0committee want to say he is hiding something, he declared that he is not.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been over 14 months since January 6th, 2021. This has been the largest manhunt in American history. I committed no crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bruesewitz said that\u00a0\u201cthere is no merit\u201d for the committee to be looking into him, understanding that it is just the committee \u201cplaying the game of partisan, political lawfare.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI prefer to fight in the public square where the weight of the evidence and daylight exposes this Committee as what they are,\u201d\u00a0Bruesewitz wrote in his prepared remarks.
