However, the SEC has not distributed the $40 million in collected fines to shareholders and continues to subpoena Tesla regarding Musk\u2019s social media use, according to a filing earlier this week,\u201d The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/sec-responds-to-elon-musks-accusation-of-harassment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">noted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The settlement has also led to the SEC accusing Musk of violating the agreement over tweets about Tesla since the settlement agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Musk has filed a separate previous <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.nysd.501755\/gov.uscourts.nysd.501755.72.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">motion<\/a> to dispute the 2018 fraud lawsuit. \u201cI never lied to shareholders. I would never lie to shareholders. I entered into the consent decree for the survival of Tesla, for the sake of its shareholders,\u201d Musk wrote in the motion.<\/p>\n<p>The motion could be significant, as Musk has been increasingly outspoken regarding world events in recent weeks. For example, the Tesla founder recently noted his support for the U.S. to increase oil and gas production.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz joined in agreement with Tesla CEO Elon Musk\u2019s viral Twitter post that America needs to increase oil and gas output \u201cimmediately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cruz took to Twitter on Saturday to support Musk\u2019s statement, saying, \u201cCouldn\u2019t agree more! The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/elon-musk-praised-for-coming-to-ukraines-rescue-pushes-a-button-and-changes-the-course-of-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Musk made the remark on social media in response to a tweet from Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, who tweeted: \u201c@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars \u2014 Russia try to occupy Ukraine!
