Marco Rubio (R-FL) told reporters on Tuesday that American energy should compensate for President Joe Biden\u2019s largely symbolic ban of Russian energy exports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can produce more than enough oil to make up for whatever it is we buy from Russia,\u201d Rubio <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thehill\/status\/1501205479011274760?s=20&#038;t=zc0B2hyIqglWq7Ub4Jo8mw\">said<\/a>\u00a0about the preexisting blockage of Russian energy exports. \u201cI just don\u2019t get it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe only explanation is this religious zealotry on this Green New Deal stuff makes that an impossibility, and it\u2019s going to lead us to a ridiculous policy,\u201d Rubio said after asking why America would instead \u201cgo to Saudi Arabia and beg for oil, ask a narco-terrorist [Venezuelan regime] for oil and do an Iran deal with the largest state sponsor of terrorism?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday morning, Biden announced he would\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/08\/average-gas-price-jumps-11-cents-in-one-day-to-record-high-4-173\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">ban<\/a>\u00a0Russian oil, liquefied natural gas, and coal imports while\u00a0<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1500924961640361985\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">looking<\/a>\u00a0to Venezuelan President Nicol\u00e1s Maduro for\u00a0\u201cenergy security.\u201d White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed to reporters Monday the Biden administration is negotiating a boost to Venezuela\u2019s oil production.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I am glad Biden finally cut off the oil from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Russia?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Russia<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Now replace it with American oil <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6SUfb465QD\">pic.twitter.com\/6SUfb465QD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcorubio\/status\/1501216660115570693?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 8, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Biden administration is also negotiating with Iran to ease sanctions on the \u201clargest state sponsor of terrorism.\u201d Iran is a large oil producer and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/china\/china-buys-more-iranian-oil-now-than-it-did-before-sanctions-data-shows-2022-03-01\/\">sells<\/a> oil to China.<\/p>\n<p>While the West is reportedly splintered on whether to ban Russian energy exports due to the war in Ukraine, a non-NATO ally,\u00a0China and Russia are allied in their fight against the West.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Russian oil makes up 3% of U.S. oil imports, so the impact of a ban really depends on how many, if any, European countries join\u2026and if there will be secondary sanctions on China and India\u2014both substantial consumers of Russian oil.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Weijia Jiang (@weijia) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/weijia\/status\/1501196785594908676?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 8, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The manufactured energy crisis comes as Psaki was asked Monday if implementing energy independence initiatives in America would reduce energy prices for Americans faster than implementing unproven renewable energy theories.
