Yet \u201ca whole new generation of entrepreneurs have begun to emerge\u201d: \u201cAfter years of decline, new business formations rose from roughly 3.5 million in 2019 to 4 million last year. Self-employment, pummeled at first, has recovered more rapidly than conventional salary jobs, as more Americans reinvent themselves.\u201d And US manufacturing is now surging, with employment \u201cexpanding more rapidly than in almost four decades\u201d as \u201cthe trend to reshoring has accelerated.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Republican: Dems Driving Lawlessness<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cAs a nation, we are now seeing the highest spike in murder rates in decades,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/congress-blog\/politics\/596788-the-far-left-has-perpetuated-nationwide-lawlessness-and-the\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">observes Rep. John Katko (R-NY) at The Hill<\/a>. \u201cDemocrats have spent years defunding, disarming, and demonizing law enforcement while progressive prosecutors in places like New York City are picking and choosing which laws to enforce,\u201d while \u201cactivist judges are releasing repeat offenders on little or no bond.\u201d Yet Democrats care \u201cmore about deflecting\u201d than addressing the crime crisis. A \u201cpervasive antagonism towards police stoked by the left is contributing to brutal increases in violent crime.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Analyst: The Return of King Gold?<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThe blocking of Russia\u2019s central-bank reserves,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/if-currency-reserves-arent-really-money-the-world-is-in-for-a-shock-11646311306?st=wfsoydkf8mo1u38&#038;reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warns The Wall Street Journal\u2019s Jon Sindreu<\/a>, means \u201cmilitary and economic blocs are set to drift farther apart.\u201d The problem: These \u201cassets are someone else\u2019s liability \u2014 someone who can just decide they are worth nothing.\u201d Russia\u2019s still earning hard currency with its energy exports, yet \u201cthe entire artifice of \u2018money\u2019 as a universal store of value risks being eroded by the banning of key exports to Russia and boycotts of the kind corporations like Apple and Nike announced.\u201d So, \u201cat the very least, more of Russia\u2019s money will likely shift into gold and Chinese assets.\u201d And \u201cfinancial and economic linkages between China and sanctioned countries will necessarily strengthen if those countries can only accumulate reserves in China and only spend them there.\u201d This will \u201cfurther the deglobalization trend and entrench two separate spheres of technological, monetary and military power.\u201d Investors \u201cmay not be ill advised: buy gold. Many of the world\u2019s central banks will surely be doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Libertarian: Murthy\u2019s Misbegotten \u2018Misinfo\u2019 Fight<\/h2>\n<p>US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy \u201casked tech companies to do their part by turning over data on \u2018COVID-19 misinformation,\u2019 \u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/reason.com\/2022\/03\/03\/vivek-murthys-demand-for-data-on-covid-misinformation-is-part-of-a-creepy-crusade-to-suppress-dissent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">writes Jacob Sullum at Reason<\/a> \u2014 which is \u201cmore than a little creepy in a country where people have a constitutional right to express their opinions.\u201d \u201cIf you say something that goes against the \u2018best available evidence\u2019 \u201d according to \u201cgovernment officials,\u201d that\u2019s \u201cmisinformation.\u201d But \u201cwhat counts as misinformation can change\u201d: Questioning \u201cthe evidence in favor of general masking during the first few months of the pandemic .\u2009.\u2009. was not misinformation, because it was consistent with the CDC\u2019s position.\u201d Then the CDC flipped. Treating \u201cdissent from the official line on public health issues .\u2009.\u2009. as an urgent threat\u201d is both \u201cfundamentally illiberal and inconsistent with freedom of speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>From the left: Dems Still Delusional on Trump<\/h2>\n<p>After a filing by the House Jan. 6 committee, \u201cMany of Trump\u2019s critics have once again leapt to believe that opaque legal developments might vanquish the former president, a familiar pattern since Robert Mueller became a household name in 2017,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/ideas\/archive\/2022\/03\/trump-january-6-committee-prosecution-false-hope\/624178\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remarks The Atlantic\u2019s David A. Graham<\/a>. In fact, \u201cThe hope that a prosecution can solve a political problem is a false hope.\u201d The obvious better answer: \u201cTrump\u2019s opponents defeated him in the 2020 election.
