Texas Children\u2019s Hospital didn\u2019t just decide to stop castrating children out of the goodness of their hearts. They were pressured by strong political leadership,\u201d American Principles Project President Terry Schilling told The Daily Wire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>He added that Republican governors should take similar actions and work to pass legislation banning \u201cexperimental gender transition procedures.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cPolitics isn\u2019t downstream from culture \u2013 politics drives culture. Republican governors should learn the lesson here and work in their states to pass legislation like Arkansas\u2019 SAFE Act, which would once and for all ban subjecting minors to these experimental gender transition procedures,\u201d he argued.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Legal challenges to Abbott\u2019s directive are ongoing as last week a Democrat judge placed a temporary stop to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/texas-democrat-judge-blocks-state-investigation-into-parents-permitting-16-year-old-to-undergo-gender-treatment\"><span>investigation<\/span><\/a><span> of one such case of the parents of a teen who identifies as transgender.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Biden administration also came out against Abbott\u2019s actions, calling it \u201cgovernment overreach.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cThis is government overreach at its worst,\u201d a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hhs-secretary-becerra-threatens-texas-over-trans-kids-hhs-will-take-immediate-action-if-needed\"><span>statement<\/span><\/a><span> from Biden said. \u201cLike so many anti-transgender attacks proliferating in states across the country, the Governor\u2019s actions callously threaten to harm children and their families just to score political points.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Biden added that child welfare organization should \u201cexpand access to gender-affirming care for transgender children.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Back in November, the <\/span><span>GENder Education and Care Interdisciplinary Support (GENECIS) program at the Dallas Health Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2021\/11\/19\/texas-transgender-children-health-care-program-genecis\/\">was<\/a> closed down.
