He pushed the carriage before he peered inside of the bag and found the torso, but the victim\u2019s extremities and head were missing, WNBC\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/news\/local\/womans-headless-body-found-in-shopping-cart-at-nyc-intersection-source\/3581187\/\">notes<\/a>. He then called 911.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Authorities stated the body did not have stab or gunshot wounds and did not have any tattoos or marks that could help investigators identify the victim, WABC <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/womans-torso-in-cart-shopping-brooklyn-east-new-york\/11616630\/\">reports<\/a>. She is believed to be either white or Hispanic and the body did not look to be decomposed.\u00a0Authorities have been looking at surveillance videos in hopes of seeing who left the carriage at the intersection, WNBC reports.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>A police source told the <em>Daily News<\/em> that officers on scene canvassed the area in a search of additional body parts, but none were found. New York City\u2019s Medical Examiner\u2019s Office will attempt to identify the victim, presumed to be an adult, through DNA testing, as identification through dental records and fingerprints is not currently possible, the source added. Additionally, the office will work to determine her cause of death.<\/p>\n<p>The case has left New Yorkers on edge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh my God, Jesus Christ, \u2019cause nowadays anyone is not safe here anymore. I don\u2019t know what to do because I work around the corner,\u201d Violet Rodriguez told WABC.<\/p>\n<p>Another resident,\u00a0Cynthia Jimenez, told the outlet she feels the city is unsafe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey say New York is a dream, an American dream, but I don\u2019t feel safe,\u201d she explained. \u201cI just wanna like, make this place safer.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A woman\u2019s torso was discovered in a bag inside of a New York City shopping cart early Thursday morning, police say.
