Ron DeSantis (R) announced Friday that the global shipping company\u00a0Sea-Lead Shipping is moving part of its operations from California to Jacksonville, Florida \u2014 another victory for the governor, whose state\u2019s ports have increased their capacity to help alleviate the nationwide supply chain crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from\u00a0Jacksonville, Florida, DeSantis spoke of the continued supply chain disruptions caused largely by \u201cbad COVID policy,\u201d which has continued to increase prices of goods. While he emphasized that Florida cannot control federal fiscal policy, the state is trying to alleviate the burden and has been for months.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Last fall, DeSantis made it clear that Florida ports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/10\/19\/ron-desantis-addresses-supply-chain-crisis-floridas-ports-are-open\/\">remained<\/a> open, with some even offering incentives for businesses to move their cargo through Sunshine State ports. This has proven to be successful, as the Port of Miami, for instance, saw an increase in cargo in 2021, and much of it was attributed to imports from Asia<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>that would normally go to California. However, they redirected to Florida \u201cbecause they know they can operate efficiently,\u201d DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>He also noted that the Port of Tampa saw an increase in container tonnage with huge jumps in building materials, and\u00a0Port Everglades has seen growth up 25 percent year to date.<\/p>\n<p>As a result,\u00a0Sea-Lead Shipping, headquartered in\u00a0Singapore, is moving part of its operations from\u00a0California to \u201cwonderfully efficient and less congested JaxPort here in Jacksonville, Florida,\u201d DeSantis announced, adding that it was \u201clooking for a way to avoid congestion on the west coast and chose JAXPORT\u201d after problems with backups and congestion at the Port of Long Beach.
