The report continues:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Every day up to 150 [illegal migrant] women wait here, bargaining for hourly pay that is often below minimum wage, according to data collected from the Workers Justice Project last year. Often these day laborers are undocumented [illegals] and in recent months, many come from Ecuador. Rosa migrated from Ecuador and eventually settled in New York city nine years ago. She still comes to La Parada at least five days a week to look for work:\u00a0 [She said] \u201cNow it is very, very difficult because there are a lot of people\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With more women, looking for work there\u2019s more competition. Desperate to find a job and with little to no English, many new arrivals don\u2019t negotiate their rate \u2026 [NBC asked] So you were here for a month before you could get a first job? [A migrant answered] Yes, one month.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The inflow is illegal because long-standing laws passed by Congress generally bar the admission of foreign workers into Americans\u2019 labor market.<\/p>\n<p>But Biden\u2019s deputies \u2014 chiefly, the pro-migration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas \u2014 helps tens of thousands of migrants from the country of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ecuador\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ecuador<\/a> in South America walk through the U.S. border. Roughly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/hispanic\/fact-sheet\/u-s-hispanics-facts-on-ecuadorian-origin-latinos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">500,000 Ecuadorians<\/a> walked through the southern border between 2000 and 2017, and another 97,000 Ecuadorians were recorded in 2021 while trying to cross the border.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI left my country because of the economic situation that all of us Ecuadorians are living,\u201d a recently released migrant told NBC.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been here almost 34 years and I\u2019ve never seen the wave of Ecuadorians coming in the short time,\u201d said Walter Sinche, the executive director of the Alianza Ecuatoriana Internacional, or the Ecuadorian International Alliance. \u201cI knew a family, for example, they came with five kids. Not only undocumented but also people that come with visa, they overstay, so that\u2019s also a large number,\u201d he told Breitbart News on March 2.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the \u2018[female migrants arrive] with some kind of relatives, some on their own with no relatives,\u201d said Sinche.<\/p>\n<p>The female migrants are being exploited because employers pay them less than the minimum wage of $15 per hour, Sinche said\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s a new wave of new migrants coming to the U.S. and that\u2019s why they [employers] take advantage,\u201d he told Breitbart News. He continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The minimum wage in New York, it\u2019s $15 an hour. But since they are new in the country, the people sometimes get paid that amount and sometimes they pay them less. I know people, they get paid like $7, $8 an hour \u2026\u00a0Like I said, a new generation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI earned very little and it was not enough,\u201d one of the migrant women told NBC.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>State governments and federal agencies <a href=\"https:\/\/publicintegrity.org\/inequality-poverty-opportunity\/workers-rights\/cheated-at-work\/garment-immigrant-workers-wage-theft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">do little<\/a> about wage theft against illegal migrants. The lax enforcement of labor law hels to push down wage levels for Americans. For example, NYSFocus.com\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysfocus.com\/2021\/06\/10\/wage-theft-prevention\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> in June 2021:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEmployers were using the pandemic as an excuse to not pay workers,\u201d said Glendy Tsitouras, an organizer with the Workers Justice Project, a Brooklyn-based worker center that serves day laborers and domestic workers. \u201cThey would tell workers that something happened and that they will pay next week\u2014but that never happened.\u201d<br \/>In April of 2020 alone, Tsitouras said, her organization was flooded with between 30 and 35 cases. Pre-pandemic, they typically received around 15 cases a month.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The workplace migrant abuse tends to come from Asian and Middle Eastern immigrants, Sinche said. There are \u201cnot many\u201d complaints about Americans\u00a0 \u201clike, for example, [Americans] from Ireland, Italians, Germans,\u201d he said, adding:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Because they\u2019re more conscious about their past, their history and they know also their grandma, their grandparents, came to the U.S. almost the same situation and [so] they are less abusive with new migrants on a high percentage. I\u2019m talking about new communities, the Asians, they came a little later, and they start purchasing homes, for example, in the Corona area \u2026\u00a0 They [are] not <em>bueno<\/em>, can be really bad \u2026 mainly Chinese \u2026 I\u2019m just talking about the facts of what people have been telling me \u2026 They take advantage of new migrants and also basically if you\u2019re trying to claim [legal protections] they say they will call immigration.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>New York City\u2019s government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/06\/19\/new-york-democrats-gift-250000-illegal-alien-drivers-to-uber-delivery-companies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">encourages<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/11\/17\/democrats-want-5-5-billion-bailout-new-york-citys-illegal-population\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">funds illegal migration<\/a> into the city, despite the damage to Americans\u2019 wages and housing costs. In September 2021, for example, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/09\/21\/chuck-schumer-migrants-prevent-wage-raising-labor-shortages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">declared<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The last year and a half \u2026 have shown how vital our [illegal] immigrants have been to keeping our economy going during the time of crisis \u2026 We\u2019re short of workers from one end of America to the other \u2014 one of the reasons? The Trump administration dramatically cut back on immigrants in this country. We need them. We need them in our labor force. We need them to continue American vitality. We need them because they\u2019re part of the American dream.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe main driver of both new business formation and population growth in New York has historically been international immigration,\u201d says a September 2020 Axios.com\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/16\/new-yorks-mayoral-rivals-vow-cheap-housing-plus-more-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a>. If international \u201cimmigration remains suppressed, New York will suffer,\u201d says the article, which was titled \u201cThe math of New York City\u2019s recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Migrants in New York need jobs to live in the expensive city, but they also need money to pay off their debts of about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.borderreport.com\/hot-topics\/immigration\/coyoteros-shifting-traffic-of-ecuadorian-migrants-to-el-paso-juarez-corridor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$15,000 to $20,000<\/a> per person.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>They also need cash to re-hire the coyotes so they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/unaccompanied-alien-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">illegally deliver<\/a>\u00a0the migrants\u2019 children to them via the federal government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/04\/21\/washpost-illegal-migrants-want-foreign-children-delivered-faster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unaccompanied Alien Children<\/a>\u00a0child-delivery <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2022\/02\/08\/reuters-biden-delivers-latino-child-labor-slaughterhouses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If the migrants cannot get jobs, they cannot pay their smuggling debts, Sinche said.\u00a0 \u201cAll over, coyotes are lending money [to migrants] but they have to sign a document saying \u2018If you\u2019re not paying [the debt], I\u2019ll take your land or house or any other property,&#8217;\u201d he said. When the debt is not paid, \u201cmost of the time, they ended up taking the properties \u2026 That\u2019s a corrupt system that\u2019s happening in Ecuador.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If the women cannot get jobs, they also cannot save enough money to pay coyotes to bring their children to U.S. border officials, Sinche said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden is covertly flying economic migrants into New York, says Rob Astorino, a candidate in the 2022 GOP guberantorial race. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Tm6cSbtNTr\">https:\/\/t.co\/Tm6cSbtNTr<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1428194927083761673?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 19, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The rise in Ecuadorian migration during 2021 is partly caused by migrants hiring coyotes to deliver their children to the border, William Murrillo\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.borderreport.com\/hot-topics\/immigration\/coyoteros-shifting-traffic-of-ecuadorian-migrants-to-el-paso-juarez-corridor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> BorderReport.com in August 2021.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s parents who haven\u2019t seen their children in many years and send for them,\u201d said Murillo, a former government official in Ecuador who now runs a <a href=\"https:\/\/1800migrante.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">binational legal firm<\/a> for Ecuadorians.<\/p>\n<p>Murillo\u2019s \u201cpersonal experience as an undocumented migrant marked his life and he decided to serve our community of Ecuadorians in the world,\u201d according to the firm\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>The migrants try to save wages for debt payments by crowding into apartments, Sinche said. \u201cThey have to struggle \u2014 they cannot afford to spend too much money \u2026 because they want to save,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, a two-bedroom apartment, it\u2019s supposed to be for a family, maybe two [people per bedroom. But now] sometimes, it is five to six or seven in a two-bedroom apartment,\u201d he said.\u00a0Rents are \u201cway too crazy, especially here in the area of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Corona,+Queens,+NY\/@40.740887,-73.8921172,13z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c25fcc36269401:0x54dd6abe7a67b150!8m2!3d40.7449859!4d-73.8642613\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queens Corona<\/a>. A single studio will go for $1,500 to $1,600, and a two-bedroom, sometimes it goes to 2000 to $2,400,\u201d which is up about $150 since rents declined during the coronavirus crash, he said.<\/p>\n<p>City officials <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/09\/06\/washington-post-absolves-biden-administration-migrants-drown-work-5-per-hour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">do not stop landlords<\/a> from subdividing apartments to extract more rent, he said. In an August rainstorm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/09\/06\/washington-post-absolves-biden-administration-migrants-drown-work-5-per-hour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">11 migrants drowned<\/a> in their basement apartments.<\/p>\n<p>Migrant men are in a better position because they can take construction jobs, Sinche added. \u201cThey do pretty good,\u201d said Sinche, who offers government-designed safety training to the illegal migrants.<\/p>\n<p>Without domestic work, some women are trying to get construction jobs, he said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>What I find out was that women are taking the men\u2019s positions, even construction. I just got a conversation yesterday with a couple of women that they do concrete work, they do carpentry works. I know one woman is doing electrical work. So since I\u2019m an electrician for many years, I never seen so many Hispanics on the electrical trade, for example. I mean it\u2019s good for them, but they do because there\u2019s no other options to pick up my new skills.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The migrants\u2019 money generates profits for many businesses in New York, according to Sinche: \u201cThey also pay for taxes, regardless of immigration status \u2026 they make money circulate in society \u2026 They have to eat, they have to wear clothes, they have to take transportation, [when] they get sick, they take medication.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey make money circulate in society,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>But the huge inflow of migrants cuts Americans\u2019 wages and raises their housing costs.
