\/><\/div>\n<p>Fox News\u2019s Jacqui Heinrich grilled White House press secretary Jen Psaki on the state of domestic energy production, leading to a terse exchange between the two at a press briefing on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><br \/>[embedded content]\n<p>Heinrich asked <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/23\/doocy-psaki-rising-energy-costs-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Psaki<\/a> if there was anything President Joe Biden\u2019s administration was capable of doing that would get domestic oil providers \u201cback to pre-pandemic levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo you think the oil companies don\u2019t have enough money to drill on the places that have been pre-approved?\u201d Psaki responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just asking,\u201d Heinrich replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would point that question to them and we can talk about it more tomorrow when you learn more,\u201d Psaki said.<\/p>\n<p>Heinrich continued to press Psaki, bringing up the possibility of opening the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/03\/galloping-permanent-solutions-buttigieg-biden-admin-keystone-pipeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Keystone XL Pipeline<\/a>, as well as asking if the Biden administration could attempt more \u201cenergy-friendly policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki responded by saying that Keystone \u201chas never been operational,\u201d and that it would \u201ctake years for that to have any impact.\u201d Psaki continued, stating that opening Keystone is a \u201cproposed solution\u201d that would have \u201cno impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring those years it would take to bring down prices as you\u2019re saying,\u201d Heinrich said, \u201cDo you think we should just continued to buy Russian oil?\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/03\/nancy-pelosi-russian-oil-import-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Nancy Pelosi Echoes Republicans\u2019 Calls For Russian Oil Import Ban)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Psaki replied, stating that Heinrich was \u201cfamiliar with a number of steps we have taken,\u201d including a \u201chistoric release from the strategic petroleum reserve.\u201d When Heinrich attempted to interject, Psaki told her to \u201clet me finish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Psaki continued, saying the U.S. and Europe should, over time, focus on reducing its \u201creliance on oil\u201d and invest in \u201cclean energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs long as we\u2019re buying Russian oil, aren\u2019t we financing the war?\u201d Heinrich asked.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki said that the oil from Russia was \u201conly about 10% of what we\u2019re importing,\u201d and that any move the Biden administration makes is designed to
