The latest round of sanctions also issues visa restrictions on 19 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/25\/ukraine-capital-kyiv-attacked-russian-forces-missiles\/\">Russian<\/a> oligarchs and\u00a0\u201c47 of their family members and close associates,\u201d a fact sheet provided by the White House noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese individuals have enriched themselves at the expense of the Russian people, and some have elevated their family members into high-ranking positions. (Photo by Anastasia Vlasova\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Those sanctioned by the U.S. include Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president\u2019s press secretary, and\u00a0Alisher Burhanovich Usmanov, a wealthy Russian and close ally of Putin. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/24\/congress-call-sanctions-russia-invasion-ukraine\/\">(RELATED:\u00a0Lawmakers React To Russian Invasion Of Ukraine, Call For More Sanctions)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Peskov has already been hit by sanctions imposed by the European Union and Usmanov saw \u201chis superyacht \u2026 seized by our ally Germany,\u201d the White House fact sheet said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe United States and governments all over the world will work to identify and freeze the assets Russian elites and their family members hold in our respective jurisdictions \u2013 their yachts, luxury apartments, money, and other ill-gotten gains,\u201d the Biden administration said.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday\u2019s announcement marks the latest in a slew of sanctions imposed by the U.S. since Russia\u2019s invasion of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/02\/28\/volodymyr-zelensky-requests-ukraine-join-european-union-russia-invasion\/\">Ukraine<\/a> began.
